Chapter 186 - Chapter 186 : Gwen Spider-Man and the other three versions appear in the same frame

"We've finally dealt with the Vulture who somehow crossed into this universe." Gwen Stacy—better known as Spider-Woman in her own world—let out a long breath. A rare sense of accomplishment and clarity washed over her.

Ever since the Kingpin's particle collider malfunction sent her spiraling into Miles Morales' universe, she'd been fighting to adapt, to make sense of the multiverse's chaotic fabric.

Now, with this mission complete, Gwen activated her dimensional watch, ready to report her progress to the Spider-Society headquarters.

It was her first solo assignment—something she'd fought hard to earn—and it meant more to her than she'd expected.

Since that fateful collision with the multiverse, her awareness of its infinite branching had only grown stronger. So had her fascination.

After persistent lobbying, she'd finally been admitted into the Spider-Society and received the dimensional watch—a device designed by Miguel O'Hara, aka Spider-Man 2099. With it, she could traverse the multiverse safely, protected from universal rejection or temporal decay.

That watch changed her life.

Now she spent her days hunting down rogue Spider-villains who had crossed into the wrong universes, helping preserve the fragile balance of each reality.

This successful mission only solidified her resolve.

Still, there was one lingering regret: she hadn't met the Spider-Man of this particular universe.

She had been curious—maybe even a little hopeful. In her own universe, Peter had never been bitten. Brilliant as he was, he'd transformed himself into the Lizard and died by her hand. The guilt never faded.

But with her task complete, it was time to move on.

Gwen knew she couldn't linger in a universe that wasn't hers. Too long, and she might distort its fate—or worse, lose the protection of her watch.

Just as she was preparing to open a return portal, a voice called from behind her:

"You must be Gwen. Why not stay a while and talk?"

Her reflexes kicked in. "Who's there?"

No Spider-sense warning. That wasn't just unusual—it was alarming.

Gwen spun around, mask in place, eyes narrowed on the approaching figure. He wasn't familiar, but he spoke with a strange confidence, as if he knew her. Could he be a villain from yet another universe?

The man was Alex Ray.

Alex hadn't expected to meet Gwen Stacy here, let alone see the dimensional watch on her wrist. His first thought had been simple curiosity—who had the power to cross multiversal lines like this?

The watch answered everything. It was Gwen, all right—part of the Spider-Society.

"Who are you?" she asked, stance guarded.

"No need to panic," Alex said calmly. "You know Miles Morales, right? He helped send you back. The particle collider that scattered everyone—it pushed you here. Miles mentioned you."

Alex was tired of giving the same explanations. Every version of Spider-Man seemed to look at him like he was some threat. Didn't he look friendly enough?

Gwen's body relaxed slightly at the name "Miles." But her voice remained skeptical.

"If Miles mentioned me, did he mention anyone else? And how do I know you didn't kill him?"

Alex shrugged. "He talked about a few others. Spider-Ham. Peni Parker. I don't know if Miles is safe right now, but I can take you to meet two Spider-Men. You'll see for yourself."

"Two?" she repeated, picking up on the detail immediately.

There were two Spider-Men here?

Or had others crossed over?

The questions swirled in her head.

"One's native to this world. The other came from another universe—same as you," Alex replied.

"Come with me. You'll understand everything." He opened a portal behind him, the golden ripples illuminating the empty street.

Gwen hesitated. It could be a trap.

But she had to take the risk—if not for answers, then for Miles.

And there was something else: the mystery of Alex Ray. He wore no dimensional tech, and yet moved between universes. How?

Even her watch couldn't detect his origin.

And maybe—just maybe—there was another version of Peter out there. One who hadn't turned into the Lizard. One who hadn't died.

The thought took root and wouldn't let go.

Gwen stepped through the portal.

Before her vision cleared, she heard voices.

"Whoa!"

"A female Spider-Man?" Harry Osborn jabbed an elbow into Peter Parker—Tobey Maguire's version—grinning.

Tobey's Peter stared, caught off guard. Gwen wasn't wearing a mask.

Andrew Garfield's Peter stood nearby, frozen. His breath hitched. For a second, he couldn't believe what he was seeing.

She looked exactly like her. His Gwen.

Gwen scanned the room, her gaze lingering first on Garfield's Peter.

But no—he wasn't her Peter. The resemblance ended with the costume.

He's not my Peter, she told herself. That Peter's gone.

Her eyes locked onto someone else—a shy, awkward guy with glasses, standing a little off to the side.

Her breath caught.

That face... that was Peter. Her Peter. He looked just like him.

Tobey's Peter shifted awkwardly under her gaze, cheeks flushing with embarrassment.

Gwen felt it again—that heavy, gut-wrenching sadness. The grief never left her.

"I really do have a friend who looks exactly like you," she said softly, her voice cracking just slightly. "But he wasn't Spider-Man. He became... something else. A lizard. I had to stop him. I had to... kill him."

Silence fell over the room.

Garfield and Tobey's Peters exchanged looks, but said nothing. What could they say?

She stood there, seemingly unshakable on the outside, but clearly breaking within.

If only things had gone differently in her universe. If only it had been Peter who got bitten.

Alex finally broke the silence. "You three. Introduce yourselves. Gwen, tell them about the Spider-Society."

The room jolted.

"Spider-Society?" all three Spider-Men said at once.

"There's... an organization?" Tobey's Peter asked.

"You mean there are more of us?" Garfield's Peter added.

"How many more?" Peter asked, stepping forward from the other room, having just joined them.
