Chapter 8 - Chapter 6: A Council Divided

Revan and Naruto were escorted through the grand halls of the Jedi Temple. The scale of the architecture was overwhelming even for Revan—marble floors etched with the seal of the Jedi Order, fountains powered by repulsorlift, and statues of past masters long forgotten in his time.

Naruto looked around in awe. "This place is... huge! Are we going to meet all the Jedi now?"

Revan nodded. "The Council. They lead the Order. Be respectful. They'll decide what happens to us."

They entered the High Council Chamber, an elegant circular room of tall windows and curving chairs. Twelve Jedi Masters awaited, seated in their assigned positions. Master Yoda sat closest to the center, flanked by Mace Windu and Plo Koon.

"Knight Revan," Windu said, voice deep and measured. "You claim to be from the Old Republic. From the time of the Mandalorian Wars."

Revan stepped forward. "Yes. I was knighted shortly before they began. But I never fought in them. I found Naruto and we encountered a singularity. We were drawn into a rift and awoke in this era."

"More than a thousand years have passed," said Ki-Adi-Mundi. "That would make you... legend."

"History," corrected Yoda. "Known you, the Force has. Not coincidence, your return is."

"That child..." Plo Koon pointed gently toward Naruto. "What is his significance in this?"

Revan placed a hand on Naruto's shoulder. "His name is Naruto Uzumaki. He is powerful in the Force, strong and untrained. He comes from a world outside the known systems — a planet not recognized by the Republic. His people wield chakra, a form of energy linked to life itself. I believe it's related to the Force."

Aayla Secura, a young Twi'lek Padawan standing quietly behind her master, leaned slightly forward, her curiosity evident but her silence respectful. "And what are his origins?"

Revan hesitated, then answered. "I discovered his parentage before we were displaced. His father was a great warrior. His mother, a seal master and sensor of rare ability. Both are gone. He was orphaned, feared by his people for the beast sealed within him — the Nine-Tailed Fox."

A murmur of surprise passed through the chamber.

Shaak Ti spoke at last. "A Jinchūriki. That energy... could be dangerous if left untrained."

"That's why I took him as my Padawan," Revan said firmly. "I will teach him control. He will not walk that path alone."

Yoda's ears twitched thoughtfully. "The Force, strong in him, it is. But risk, also. Protect the future, or destroy it, he may."

Naruto stepped forward. "I won't be a monster. Revan says I can be better. I wanna learn. And if I gotta face some big destiny or something, then I'll punch it in the face!"

The chamber fell silent.

Yoda chuckled. "Brave, the young one is."

Windu exchanged a glance with Plo Koon and nodded to a robed technician waiting nearby. "We will conduct verification. DNA, midichlorian signature, neural resonance. If you truly are Revan, it will show."

Revan inclined his head. "Understandable. I would do the same."

Later, in a secure medical wing, Revan underwent a full biometric scan while Jedi scholars reviewed ancient records. The results were conclusive—his midichlorian count was staggering, matching what little the archives preserved. Old biometric files from the Jedi Archives matched his DNA to archived samples with a 99.8% certainty.

The results were transmitted to the Council.

"He is Revan," Mace Windu confirmed in a closed session. "Physically, mentally. Even the Force echoes agree."

"Then the Force has brought him back for a reason," said Yoda. "Trust we must, but wisely."

The following day, Revan and Naruto were summoned again.

Windu addressed them. "The Council acknowledges your identity. However, this is a new era. Jedi traditions have changed. You and your apprentice will be watched, not out of distrust, but out of caution."

Revan straightened. "Then let me help. Let us both help. I'll train Naruto the best I can."

Yoda looked at him thoughtfully for a long moment before speaking. "Much weight, on young shoulders rests. Knight you are, yes—but newly so. Lost, all that you knew, have you. Unfamiliar, this time is."

Revan said nothing, accepting the wisdom behind the old master's words.

Yoda continued, rising slightly from his seat. "Assist you, I shall. Guide Naruto, together we will. Teach him, and you, I will. And speak more, we must—of beliefs, attachments, and the bonds you carry. Different, your time was. Normal, to love, it was."

Revan's expression remained calm. "Yes. Emotions—when guided—were a strength. Passion tempered by discipline. Love gave us resolve. I don't hide from it."

Yoda hummed, his ears twitching thoughtfully. "A flaw, attachments can be. But also, wisdom, in your words, I see. Discussion, we will continue. The Order... must grow, as the Force guides."

Revan inclined his head. "Then we learn together."

This would mark the beginning of a long dialogue between the ancient Grand Master and the time-displaced Knight—one that would, in time, shape a new philosophy for the Jedi: one where love was acknowledged, responsibility upheld, and balance sought through acceptance rather than denial."

The chamber shifted subtly with the gravity of Yoda's decision.

"You will not walk alone in this," Yoda concluded. "A place in the Temple, you shall have. Your journey, far from over it is.""

Later, as they were escorted to their temporary quarters, Revan turned to Naruto.

"That went better than expected."

Naruto smiled. "You think they'll let us stay?"

Revan nodded. "They already have. But training begins tomorrow. And we'll have to earn their trust every day."

Naruto puffed out his chest. "Then let's make this new era remember us."
