Chapter 18 - S1 E18 - LHS-1361

The alarms continued for what felt like an eternity as he sat there in pain. The alrms drove Kilo insane forcing him to fit his helmet back into place while changing the settings to dampen the sound, although it wasn't by much. The facility finally stopped blasting its alarms as it returned back to it usual grey, hours passed in complete silence, no one had come back. With nothing else to do in the deafening silence he started to count, one hour passed, two hours passed, on the third hour the door hissed open breaking him out of the count.

He immediately stood processing how the the door opened,no one was there. Peeking out the doorway he saw nothing, it was everyone simply disappeared without a trace. Following the signs through the facility Kilo retrieved his weapon and communication device, before leaving he grabbed multiple oxygen canisters in case of emergency while also replenishing his suits life support. The facility was eerily silent and empty with no trace of the inhabitants as he explored, until he reached the research and development wing where he was captured.

The thick puddle of blood almost caused Kilo to slip as he slowly walked into the room, whatever happened in this room it was brutal. The only evidence of a fight were the seared holes in the facilities personnel, each shot was precise, only vital organs were hit. Stepping around the corpses leaving tracks of bloody boot prints as he searched the room. There wasn't much left in tact in the research wing, it seemed that whoever attacked the facility either took or destroyed much of the equipment and information.

The scene reminded him of the numerous black ops missions him and his team conducted while in the SDF. No witnesses, no evidence of SDF involvement, in and out before reinforcements could arrive. It was dirty work kept off record, few knew about these operations, fewer knew the details.

Scouring the labs he eventually found viable samples and evidence of a biological attack on LHS-1361c with a deadlier pathogen.
