The entire operation was just a failed attempt to eliminate Kilo, it made him think about how many had gone missing in incidents like that. Once the credit transfer had been completed he stormed out of the room cursing, something he wouldn't even consider doing in the SDF. The credits from this contract alone provided almost enough for quality items Kilo desperately needed. The close call in the facility was a good enough wake up call.
There was no limit to the equipment as he explored the vendors inventories, they had everything from basic weapons, suits, modules and modifications all the way to cutting edge technology, although most of it cost well beyond what Kilo had gathered. He couldn't afford much except a second hand rifle and an oxygen rerouter modification to his suit. If he wanted to truly survive he knew he'd have to pick up more lucrative contracts.
He found himself sorting through the endless supply of contracts in the broker hall, this system lived up to its significant economy as they could afford to deploy so many authority vessels to keep the peace. This unfortunately meant a lack of bounties to take on, instead Kilo decided to go back to his roots with courier runs.
The shipments loaded at prospect sent him across the system over the course of a month due to FTL fatigue. This cycle continued for an additional two months, he thought he could slim the amount of courier contracts down but it was no use. By the time he finished the runs the flight controllers had become quite acquainted to Kilo's call sign and started to welcome him with more enthusiasm.
It was mundane. He wasn't used to this sort of life after three decades of service in the SDF.
