Chapter 23 - The Horny Spider

It's been two years since the birth of Geri, Plagg, and Beth. Their chaotic nature is now tamed, thanks to Vaggie's continued training. They were now much more open to orders.

Especially Geri. Out of all of them, he was now the largest and even bipedal. Lucifer informed me that hell beasts grow and mature much faster than regular demons, depending on the power of the owner.

Geri now wore a tuxedo, and thanks to his power, his appearance changed. His face, which once had a white skull embedded in it, now merged with his fur, and his once-black fur turned into a shade of white and grey.

Plagg only grew a few inches before he completely stopped growing. He now wears a small suit like his brother. His eyes changed from green to red, and the scariest part was his new power—he could now pass through walls and even avoid attacks with this ability.

And finally, Beth. She... stayed the same. Her features didn't change at all. Lucifer had no clue why she didn't grow or change like her siblings, but he had a theory: due to Beth being made of stone, or something similar to it, she had no reason or way to grow larger. Charlie was a bit worried, since she had no idea why Beth didn't grow or why she couldn't speak like her brothers. She mumbled and bit her nails, saying she must be doing something wrong.

I comforted her and explained that she was fine and didn't need to be worried about Beth. After that, she was relieved to know that she wasn't a terrible mom.

Beth, even though she didn't grow like her brothers, didn't have the same issues with her powers. Her ability to harden her skin had grown more powerful—it was now completely invulnerable to damage while also greatly increasing her weight.

The three siblings were now part of the hotel staff, aiding in different fields without too much trouble. Geri was the hotel's main butler; he would greet and help the guests that spent their nights here and offer his services to meet their every need.

Plagg would also occasionally help his brother so that he wouldn't be upstaged by him. During those times, he would also ask the tenants for cheese whenever he knew they had it.

And finally, Beth. Even though she was the smallest of the three, she was basically the hotel's main mascot. She would run around the hotel lobby, greeting the guests that arrived with her cute little cheeks.

All in all, things had been going great. Business was booming, and we were making good money. Though Charlie's plan to rehabilitate human souls was a bit delayed since most of the guests were hellborn demons, even then, she wasn't disheartened. She wouldn't give up her dream of redeeming a damned soul and sending them to Heaven.

Her determination, her unwavering will to reach for her dreams—it just made me fall in love with her more.

As Stygian was lost in thought, another person was staring at him with a lustful gaze. She could no longer hold it in—she would have him tonight.

(Angel Dust POV)

That stupid piece of sht, Val. Can't believe he made me record a 12-hour video. Fck, my a** hurts so much.

I walked out of the studio and headed back home to me and Cherri's apartment. We used to live in our own house, but during the last extermination, our home got destroyed by one of Cherri's bombs—she was trying to run from an exorcist.

Why was she outside? Well, she saw a dead guy with her favorite shoes and thought it would be a bright idea to go outside and steal them. Unfortunately, while she was successful in stealing them, one of those flying f**kers saw her and attacked. We were able to narrowly escape—but at the cost of our home.

I sighed as I finally got home. I went inside and was greeted by the cutest little piggy ever.

"Fat Nuggets! Hey baby! Who's Daddy's cute little guy?!"

I snuggled with him, feeling my stress wash away. Not five seconds later, I saw a letter on the floor.

It was an eviction letter. I couldn't believe it. I always paid the rent—I never missed a single day. What happened!?

I was freaking out. I didn't know what to do. This was the only place I could afford, and now I'm being evicted—for what!?

I read the letter. It said I couldn't have pets here. I could either leave and find a new place or get rid of Fat Nuggets.

I was speechless. I was getting evicted because of a pet!? I ripped the letter to shreds and collapsed on my bed.

I started crying while holding Fat Nuggets in my arms. I didn't know what to do—I've hit rock bottom.

I just laid there on the bed, holding Fat Nuggets, hoping something good would happen.

After a while, I decided to get up and look for a new place to stay that would allow pets—until I stumbled upon a hotel ad:

---

"Welcome to the Happy Hotel! Are you looking for a chance at redemption? A chance to prove yourself? Or just looking for a place to stay? Come down to the Happy Hotel! With our pet-friendly space and free pet food for all, customer satisfaction is guaranteed. Come to the Happy Hotel today!"

---

I watched the ad, feeling a bit hopeful.

This could be it—a new place to stay while I figure out what to do next. Without missing a beat, I packed up all of my things, brought all the essentials, and finally left a note for Cherri explaining why I was gone.

"I really hope this is worth it."
