(Geri's POV)
I was currently cleaning the hotel's lobby after a guest was... violently evicted by Sister Beth. The guest was refusing to leave after they had destroyed the front doors of the hotel.
It was quite the sight. She hardened her skin and began charging at them with malicious intent. The impact was so great that his bones were atomized, and his muscles turned to spaghetti after the impact.
Mom wasn't all too happy about hurting a hellborn demon, so Dad had to heal them and send them to the hospital.
My thoughts were disturbed when a certain brother of mine decided to drop a piece of cheese on my face.
"Heya, big bro! Looks like you're a bit busy with all the cleaning, huh? Anyway, I just wanted to stop by and tell you that Dad wants to talk with you."
I removed the cheese from my face and threw it directly into Plagg's mouth, which he swallowed whole.
"What does Dad want to talk about?"
Plagg responded with a shrug.
"I don't know. That's why he wants to talk to you. Anyway, I'll be going now. I'm still busy with my morning nap."
"You just woke up 15 minutes ago."
"Oh! That long already? I must have been really busy."
He flew off and entered one of the guest rooms to find a place to sleep. He says that it's his special "room service," where they get to pet a sleeping cat.
I finished up work and headed to the hotel's balcony, where Dad usually sits in his favorite plastic chair while drinking white Monster Energy.
I finally reached the top and opened the door to see Dad sitting as usual. He waved at me and motioned for me to come closer.
"Hey Geri, everything alright with you?"
"Of course, Dad. Why wouldn't I be?"
"Well, I've been thinking... why don't you find a different job, son?"
"Why would I want to do that? I'm doing just fine here in the hotel."
"Well, you don't usually talk about anything other than work and training, and I'm worried you won't have a social life because you're always here taking care of your siblings."
"Someone has to make sure this place is in tip-top shape, Dad. And I don't mind being the one to do it."
"And I am always thankful for that, son. But you must simply go out more. Please, do it for me."
"Haa... Alright, Dad. I'll go out more, but call me whenever you need me, okay?"
"Of course, son."
He hugged me, and I left the balcony. I walked down the stairs and was greeted by Mom carrying a sleeping Beth.
"Hey Geri, had your little talk with Dad?"
"Yes, Mom. He told me to go out more and socialize."
She smiled at me.
"That's good. Remember, Geri, your life doesn't revolve around just work. Live your life, meet people... and maybe get a girlfriend?"
"Hehe, of course, Mom. I'll try my best."
She smiled at me once more and left, carrying a sleeping Beth.
I headed toward the main entrance, and before I could leave, I heard a voice behind me.
"And where do you think you're going, young man?"
Every single fur on my body stood up, and I turned around at attention.
"Outside, ma'am!" I said with a salute.
"Hmmm... Get back home before dark, understand?"
"Yes, ma'am!"
She nodded and left me still a bit tense.
I finally relaxed and headed out.
The city was quite lively today—sinners killing each other, cannibals eating the remains, and my favorite hotdog stand.
"Morning, ROB."
I waved at him.
"Ah, good morning, Geri."
He waved back at me.
"Just the usual?"
"Yeah, but add a bit of chili this time."
"Alright, one hotdog coming up."
ROB began to make my hotdog with the precision of someone who had done this thousands of times.
"Here you go. One Hungarian sausage with chili."
He handed me the hotdog, and I began to eat.
"Man, this is the best hotdog in the city. How do you always cook them perfectly?"
"That's a trade secret. Anyways, I'll be moving to another spot soon. Want anything else?"
"Not really. Thanks, man."
I gave him 10 souls, and he nodded and left.
I was enjoying my hotdog on one of the nearby benches until I suddenly heard a scream from one of the nearby alleys.
I walked toward the sound while eating my hotdog and saw a female hellhound being ganged up on by five sinner demons.
"Come on, sweet cheeks, don't be a little b*tch. Just a little taste."
"F*ck off, a**hole. I'm not interested."
"Ah, come on. Just a little."
They pinned her to the ground and began to lick her neck.
I had seen enough. I finished eating my hotdog and kicked one of the sinners in the side of the chest.
He flew toward the wall with a crash.
"Greetings, gentlemen. I would appreciate it if you would leave the lady."
"Or what? You gonna bite me, little doggy?"
I then dropkicked him in the face.
"I'm going to make sure you can't eat for a week."
The three other sinners charged at me with angelic knives, trying to stab me.
One tried to stab me in the head, but I quickly dodged and grabbed his shirt, slamming him to the ground.
The second tried to stab me in the back, but I quickly countered with a swift back kick to his face. He flew off to the side and fell unconscious.
The third was looking a bit nervous, eyeing his unconscious friends.
"If you want, you could just leave."
He quickly dropped his knife and ran in the opposite direction from where I stood, but he was quickly punched in the face by the female hellhound and fell down unconscious.
The girl grinned and stepped on his face before looking up and walking toward me.
"Um... hey, thanks for the save."
"Anytime. Name's Geri."
"Luna."
"Nice to meet you, Luna. Well, I better get going now. Hope you get home safe."
I waved at her before leaving—until I heard her call me.
"Hey Geri! If it's cool with you, would you want to hang out sometime? I mean, if you want to. It's not like I want to."
She looked to the side while waiting for a response from me.
I smiled and handed her my number.
"If you ever want to hang out, just give me a call."
She grabbed the card with my number and smiled at me.
"Yeah, cool, cool, cool. I'm cool—I mean you're cool—I mean..."
She blushed and hid her face in her hands.
I laughed a bit and waved her goodbye as I left.
"See you soon, Luna!"
She waved back at me with a small smile on her face.
"Oh, Lucifer, he's hot."
