After claiming the SAM, he tapped on the Holo interface it projected out. A traction beam pulsed outward, controlled and precise. It extended only a meter in distance and illuminated an area of about one meter radius. This was the transfer field. Any object that was authorized to be transferred into the spatial space needed to be aligned within this field for the transfer protocol to activate.
He quickly transferred the Quaser to the storage, and tapped the device on his forehead. A virtual image was simulated in his mental space, he saw the Quaser and heaved a sigh of relief. He was about to exit the virtual space when he saw it—a conspicuous device that switched between different forms.
Wwinz!
The device appeared in his palm after he exited the virtual space. When he recognized what it was after fiddling with it, a shocker left him speechless once more.
"Am I in a video game?
Is my luck stat maxed out?"
Although he was shocked, that didn't stop him from instantly sending it to his SAM.
He masked his expression, returning to a cold, emotionless look on his face.
He felt it—something was not right, and the sequence of events was not helping.
He gazed at the remaining scraps that remained unchecked. It was enough for today, he decided, and walked towards the elevator, making sure to hide the SAM properly.
'Good thing it's portable enough.'
He was lost in thought, brainstorming and calculating strategies in case he got himself into trouble. After almost colliding with the main gate, he finally came to his senses.
He scanned the card absentmindedly, the gate opened, and he walked out with an expressionless face. He wasn't really paying attention to all this.
"Kid, got something on your mind?"
The old man asked with concern after he saw his mental state.
"Nothing much."
He gave a short reply as he walked past the aged man.
"Please don't let the other kids in," Avalon muttered slowly, but the man heard every word.
"Don't worry, they don't usually come here anymore.
Maybe after realizing they can't compete with you,
they gave up."
It was quite understandable—after all, Avalon was the real genius. No contraption they crafted could hold a candle to even fifty percent of what he casually made, so it wasn't worth the effort.
"Thank you, Old Jake."
Avalon whispered, and he disappeared into the night like a master of stealth.
A unique structure shaped like a command center, and a unique blend between nature and science. This building featured a balcony with flower growths attached to the guard rails, giving it an alluring blend of purple and blue haze.
A small modular fence surrounded the building, the warm glow of the neon embedded in the fence casting a warm haze on this structure, giving it a mysterious vibe.
A segmented metal door shielded a particular room which seemed to be a garage.
A hooded figure leapt over the two-meter-tall fence. He landed so stealthily that his feet barely made any sound.
The figure raised his head and gazed at the story building in front of him.
"Home sweet home."
He muttered and took off his hoodie to reveal a bountiful multicolored hair.
["Welcome, Avalon!"]
A sweet feminine voice greeted him as he stepped into the sitting room.
"It's a good day, Alice."
A smile tugged at the corner of his lips when he thought of the good harvest.
["Do you care to share what makes you happy today?"]
His assistant asked in a cautious tone.
"Well, I got some amazing goodies today, and it almost feels unreal."
"That should be quite interesting, else you wouldn't be so excited," Alice replied with interest.
"You do know me well enough though, and it's a life-changing achievement."
He smirked.
Red lights blazed, the blast doors all over shut themselves automatically. With a ping, a signal-scrambling device switched on, releasing infrared pulses that made sure nothing intruded.
["LOCKDOWN PROTOCOL:
ALPHA
INITIATED!"]
An emotionless synthetic voice rang out as the whole room was dyed in a red haze, hinting at the severity of the situation.
The whole transition from a smiling face to a cold and detached expression was flawless. The AI followed the whole transition effectively, hinting at a deeper level of understanding between them.
"Prepare my domain, I want to dive."
With that same expression on his face, he walked to a control terminal embedded in a secluded section of the sitting room, close to the door that led to a hallway.
Without hesitation, he pulled a lever and that same terminal retracted, replaced with a holo interface.
A tap, a swipe, and a rapid blur—his fingers danced on the materialized keyboard, punching keystrokes at a reckless speed.
A brief silence, and the floor opened up to reveal a secret passage underneath him. He walked down the stairs as the door automatically closed behind him, leaving a seamless tiled surface in its wake.
A room was revealed—strange devices with various programs left running, flickering holographic displays, and a well-lit space with various vials and chemical solutions arranged in neat rows on various observation desks.
He walked into a specialized chamber, shaped like an upright hibernation pod.
With a soft click, the transparent covering slid down and covered the pod in a cylindrical manner.
"Start sterilization."
Puff!!
Fog clouded the transparent covering as the process went on for about a minute.
Beep!
Whuuum!
Tsssss!
A plume of mist was released as the hatch opened to reveal a fair face with a mystical presence. His skin had a golden undertone that fit quite well with his unique appearance.
An athletic figure that revealed his dedication to staying fit despite dabbling in crazy experiments most of the time.
His original outfit had disintegrated, leaving him in only his underwear.
He turned the pod around, rotating it to locate a separate compartment at the back of the machine.
Now fully equipped in a special sterile suit, he tapped on the SAM, and a quantum computer appeared on the main observation desk.
