Chapter 6 - Chapter 47- The Indignant Little Bai

As soon as that ball of white light appeared above the bed, An Mo sensed its fluctuations and had an instinctive reaction; wanting to jump up and attack the suddenly appearing entity. Thankfully, Xai Lin reacted quickly and pulled him back.

With her arm wrapped around An Mo's waist, who was half-way from jumping up, Xai Lin said with a laugh.

"An Mo, calm down. It's not an enemy."

At the same time, that ball of light drifted back to distance itself from An Mo before letting out a 'tsk' sound.

"Damn mindless beast, how dare you try to attack this old man?"

An Mo, who had barely managed to calm down his startled nerves, froze upon hearing those words, then looked at that ball of white light with a weird expression.

The ball of white light's words sounded self-important, but its voice was actually that of a child. The contrast was so stark and abrupt, An Mo forgot to retort to being called a beast. Instead, his overly curious heart was viciously poked.

Tugging on Xai Lin's robes, An Mo excitedly asked.

"Xai-xai, what's this? It looks like a soul, but somewhat different. Is it related to this ship? Does it have intelligence? Wait, it just talked, so I guess it does. But is it considered to be alive? Or is it similar to a puppet that have self-awareness?"

One after another, An Mo spat out question after question. The only thing he could determined using his Myriad Dao Eyes was that this entity had an inseparable connection to this ship. But he had never seen this type of existence before, and there were no description or images of it in his Legacy Memories.

So, needless to say, An Mo seeing this thing was equivalent to a mortal suddenly seeing a pig fly in broad daylight.

"Alright, alright, calm down before you die of over excitement."

Xai Lin said while wrapping an arm around An Mo's shoulders, who had wanted to stand up on the bed to get a closer look at the white ball called Little Bai. She showed no dissatisfaction at his over excitement but instead had pure indulgence in her eyes as she gazed at him.

Little Bai, who had been shut out of the room by Xai Lin last night, finally confirmed what he had suspected.

'Damn it, just where did this loud brat come from? He actually dared to get together with Little Mihn's little sister! He even dared to crawl into her bed without even issuing a proper marriage proposal to her parents! No, I need to send word back to Little Mihn to let his family know their precious young cabbage is being gnawed on by a wild pig!!'

Xai Lin shot a glance at Little Bai before looking away. She didn't object to her family knowing her sudden relationship with An Mo, and neither did she prevent news being reported on how she was on a daily basis. However, she did prevent Little Bai from sharing her location with her family in fear they might come looking for her.

"Come on, we've laid in bed for so long, let's go wash up together."

Xai Lin said as she got off the bed and pulled An Mo up.

"Huh? We still have to wash up in the morning? Why? What about my questions? What exactly is this thing?"

Even though An Mo was complaining, he didn't resist Xai Lin's pull and got off the bed, before obediently following behind her as she led him toward the room exit.

"Regardless of the fact we can keep clean using Spiritual Qi, I still prefer to do such mortal-like things."

"Oh."

An Mo said and nodded without much thought. If his Xai-xai wanted them to wash up in the morning then they'd wash up, but what about his other questions?

Xai Lin felt like she could hear An Mo's impatient thoughts. Chuckling she said.

"Little Bai, this is An Mo, my Dao Companion. An Mo, this is Little Bai. He's the Artifact Spirit of this flying ship."

"Dao Companion!? This lowly beast?!"

Little Bai, who was trailing behind them in the air, cried out in alarm when he heard such absurdity.

"An Artifact Spirit? Really? My Legacy Memories mention that human cultivators can craft weapons that can move on their own to protect their master but being able to create such a sentient existence seems far more profound."

An Mo temporarily ignored the screeching Artifact Spirit and turned his head to examine it more carefully with his Myriad Dao Eyes.

However, Xai Lin, who had just opened the door and had one foot outside, stopped in her tracks. She then turned around and stared at Little Bai with a serious expression as she said.

"Little Bai, regardless of anything, An Mo is now my Dao Partner. The current time is inconvenient so we can't hold a marriage ceremony right now. However, I will certainly marry him, and we might even have kids in the future. So, Little Bai, I would be happy if you don't insult the person I love and wish to spend the rest of my life with."

Little Bai met Xai Lin's serious gaze, and he was choked up for a moment. After regaining his wits, he seemed to become dim by a few degrees before saying begrudgingly.

"Fine, since this is your choice then this old man will not interfere with your decision."

This was what Little Bai said outwardly, but internally, he screeched indignantly.

'Damn it! This brat is so ungrateful! If it wasn't for me, would you be able to travel so unimpeded in this dangerous cultivation world?! Yet you actually scold this old man for this homewrecker! Fine, fine! This old man won't bother commenting on the matters of you juniors. After all, I'm just a beast of burden Artifact Spirit. Heh. But I'll definitely tell someone who can!'

Xai Lin recovered her smiling expression and ignoring the spike in Little Bai inner emotions she felt through their mental connection, she said.

"You can also relay what I just said to my family as well, I don't mind."

After saying that, Xai Lin turned and dragged An Mo out the door.

An Mo, who had gone silent and was trying hard to suppress the blush on his face, shot Little Bai a smug expression as he was pulled out the door.

Upon seeing this, Little Bai cursed this shameless brat in his heart, before following the two out.
