Chapter 36 - Chapter 36 (The Dead Titan (6))

Ron and Locki in the Future

Ron and Locki were stunned to hear that a low- to middle-class family had ruled the universe for centuries. Ron asked, "Can I meet your king?"

"Why not? Follow me," the man said.

"And what should we call you?" Locki asked.

"Oh! I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Tom Vaider—the king's nephew," he replied.

Locki thought quickly. We can't use our real names. If he knows about the Titan, he might know about us.

"My name is John Steve, and he's Ricky Racon," Locki said, pointing at Ron.

Tom led them through the futuristic city. Ron and Locki were amazed by flying cars, bikes, and single-person ships equipped with libraries, TVs, and enough food to last weeks. As they walked through a bustling shopping area, they saw all kinds of strange and advanced technology.

Eventually, Tom stopped in front of a door and typed something on a screen. It slid open, revealing a flying train. The train soared through the sky and into space, entering a wormhole. Within seconds, they arrived outside a massive floating palace.

As they exited the train, guards approached—but seeing Tom, they stepped aside without a word. The palace floated high in the air with no visible entrance. Tom touched Ron and Locki's shoulders and teleported them directly to the front of the throne room.

Tom knocked on the grand doors. "Your Majesty, it's me, Tom. May I enter?"

"You may," came the king's voice.

Inside, Ron and Locki stood before King Lee Vaider. The king stared at Ron—he looked familiar. Ron also felt like he'd seen the king before.

"What brings you here, Tom? And who are these two?" the king asked.

"They asked to meet you. This is John Steve and Ricky Racon," Tom replied.

"Hmm. You may leave, Tom."

As Tom exited, the king pointed at Ron. "You look familiar, Ricky Racon. What do you want?"

"We've time-traveled to this era," Ron said. "We need your help to get back. The time machine we used vanished when we landed."

"Time travel?" the king scoffed. "You expect me to believe that? Either way, I can't help you. Leave."

"Please, Your Majesty," Locki added. "Our timeline is in danger. One day, that monster will reach your world, too."

"You think I can't handle enemies?" the king snapped. "I've ruled for 55 years. My father died in battle, and I became king as a child. Everyone tried to conquer our kingdom back then. Now I rule the largest empire in the universe."

"Fine," Ron said. "We'll leave. Just try not to regret it." As he turned to leave—

"Arrogant little fool," the king growled. "You won't leave this place alive."

Before Ron could touch the door, it blasted him back. The king's elite guard burst in, surrounding them with weapons—axes, swords, spears, and advanced firearms.

The king stood up. "Kill them!"

Ron stood, eyes glowing with lightning and fury. "You're making a big mistake."

As the guards charged, Ron released a devastating surge of lightning and dark aura.

The king began, "You have powers? Then maybe I—" BOOM! Lightning struck him before he could finish.

Floating in the air, Ron shouted, "Gentlemen, I hate to inform you—but YOU ARE ALL DEAD."

Using black sorcery, Ron summoned dragons and wolves. One dragon slammed into the castle wall, leveling the area.

Ron and Locki teleported to Hero Town's peninsula. A massive explosion still echoed in the sky.

Locki shook his head. "You didn't have to kill everyone in the castle... including the king."

Ron looked distant. "That king reminded me of someone…"

They wandered into a nearby park and decided to grab something to eat. But before they could, sirens blared behind them.

"Hey, you two! Stop!" shouted a commanding voice.

A swarm of police cars and military vehicles approached, armed with futuristic weaponry. Leading them was a tall man with a short beard.

Ron and Locki walked toward the soldiers, but the military opened fire. The area filled with smoke and dust.

When the air cleared, Ron stood unharmed, having blocked the blasts. Locki stood calmly beside him, protected by a shimmering shield created from his eye powers.

Locki's abilities let him manipulate his surroundings and people's perceptions with his gaze. His shield had formed instinctively.

Locki glared at the military—everything in his sight crumbled.

Ron shouted, "Calm down! You just destroyed half of Hero Town!"

Locki replied, "I see everything—every thought. The people hated that king. He killed trillions. They were glad we took him down. But the military pretended otherwise to protect their image."

As they spoke, the citizens of Hero Town surrounded them. Ron asked, "Should we kill them all?"

"We have no reason to," Locki said. "They're scared. Most think this is their last day."

"Are our children here?" Ron asked.

Locki paused. "I don't know. I don't have that kind of power. Let's focus on getting back."

Suddenly, fighter jets soared overhead and opened fire—killing hundreds of civilians in the process.

Ron teleported up, sliced the jets with his blade, and returned. "Now, where were we?"

"There's one way to return to the past," Locki said.

"And what's that?" Ron asked.

Locki smirked.

"Speed."
