Scene 1: The Descent
We walked deeper into the graveyard, heading toward a random, unmarked grave.
Yardy whispered something under his breath, but I couldn't hear it. The grave suddenly opened, revealing a spiraling hole. Before I could react, Yardy shoved me in.
I slid down at high speed—it felt like a never-ending tunnel. The air grew colder and darker as I descended. Eventually, I crashed onto solid ground. Around me, there was only pitch-black darkness—no walls, no floor that I could see.
Moments later, Yardy landed beside me.
"Wait here," he said casually, then began walking forward.
To my surprise, as he stepped, the floor literally formed beneath his feet, glowing dimly for a moment before turning solid.
He looked back and shouted, "What are you waiting for? Hurry—the floor disappears behind us!"
Sure enough, the glowing tiles behind him were fading and crumbling into nothing.
I ran to catch up. Together, we made our way toward a lone door standing in the middle of the void. There was a small glowing board above it. Yardy knocked gently and spoke:
"Master, there is someone who wishes to meet you."
Sparks danced across the board. Glowing text appeared:
"You may enter."
The door creaked open on its own.
Yardy turned to me. "Go ahead."
"You're not coming in?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I can't. No one can— not even the Skeleton."
I hesitated. (Could this be a trap?) I thought. (Well, worst case… I can teleport out.)
I stepped through the door.
Inside, I froze.
Standing before me was someone I never expected to see.
"Dr. Thomas?" I said in disbelief.
A familiar face from Hero Town… but in this world?
Scene 2: The King's True Face
"Welcome, Ron," he said with a gentle smile. "I welcome you to my realm—or dimension, if you prefer. It's an honor to have you here."
I stared. "What the hell are you doing here?"
"As I said, this is my world."
"You're the King of the World of Dark Souls? Weren't you just a regular doctor back in Hero Town?"
Dr. Thomas laughed softly. "That's true. I am the king. But in the human world, I go by the name 'Dr. Thomas'. Just a harmless physician."
My head spun. "So you've been living among us the whole time…"
He nodded. "Yes. But let's not dwell on that. Ron, I called you here because I want to talk. Can you spare a moment?"
"You're a king—and you're asking politely. Of course I'll listen," I replied.
(He's being really gentle. Whatever this is about—it must be important.) I thought.
"Why don't we sit somewhere more comfortable?" he offered.
I blinked. And just like that—I was somewhere else.
A room materialized around us. A cozy, simple living room—but it had no roof. Instead, the open sky revealed an infinite cosmos: swirling galaxies, drifting stars, and glowing lines of colored energy that intersected and split in unpredictable patterns. It was… beautiful.
Dr. Thomas gestured toward the seat beside him. "So, Ron—how about we help each other?"
"Help each other?" I repeated. "If you can create worlds like this, why would you need my help? And what's in it for me?"
He smiled knowingly. "If you agree, I'll give you access to this realm. You'll be able to return here anytime you wish. I'll also help you learn to control your powers… and perhaps, teach you a few of mine. How does that sound?"
I narrowed my eyes. "So you already know I have powers."
He just nodded.
(He knows… everything. How long has he been watching me?)
"…Fine. I accept your offer."
Scene 3: The Pact
Dr. Thomas stood, extending his hand. We shook.
From his robe, he produced an old, metallic magnifying glass—ornate, with symbols etched into the rim.
"This will be your key," he said. "You can use it to enter this dimension—just focus with your mind. You can also use it to contact me, the Skeleton, or Yardy."
He took a step back. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I must attend to something important. I'll contact you soon."
Before I could reply, he vanished.
I looked at the magnifying glass in my hand. It hummed faintly, like it was alive.
Guess it's time to go home.
I focused—and in an instant, I was back where I had first met Yardy, standing on the familiar streets of Hero Town.
