Chapter 4 - Miami

MAYA:

"What was that?" Xavier said sharply, turning in my direction as if he heard my sound.

"Oh my God, Oh my God, Oh my God," I said countless times as I prayed he didn't find me.

Just then, Dragon came out from the kitchen with a plate filled with all my food. So this is where all my food in the house goes and I never stopped to think about how Xavier consumed food for five whole years.

"What was what?" Dragon asked and threw a bunch of food into his mouth.

Xavier took his eyes away from where I was and stared at Dragon. "I thought I heard something." He replied quietly.

Just as Xavier glanced his eyes back in my direction, There was no doubt that he was coming toward the room. "Give me a second, something is in that room." He said and I shut my eyes tightly in fear.

Just as he wanted to take a step further, one of the guys laughed loudly and he halted. "Yo, the boss is a bad man! You're banging that Montes girl!" He exclaimed and in his hand was a thong that he held up like a flag.

"The rich chick is in there, innit?" One of the men chuckled and Xavier seemed to be pissed.

He charged towards the guy and pulled the thong angrily. "Give me that, Don't play with me." He fired at them as they teased him.

"Ohhhhh, calm down big guy. Let's just say hi to her, that wouldn't hurt, right?" Dragon said with a smirk on his face.

Xavier pushed him on his chest as he wanted to make his way to where the Montes lady was. "Watch it, Dragon. She is my woman." Xavier pointed out.

"And Maya is your girl," Dragon added with a scoff and I felt my chest squeeze in pain as he uttered my name.

Xavier walked closer to Dragon and looked at him eyeball to eyeball as he clicked his tongue multiple times. "Maya is…"-" He paused for a while and continued with a tinge of disgust in his voice. "My nothing." He said plainly and I could see the look in his eyes that he meant it.

A tear fell from my eyes and it felt like I couldn't breathe. The feelings I felt were still fresh in my soul and my heart. A deep hole pierced into my heart and I only hoped that it would one day close.

My hands vibrated and my whole body shook with intense emotions surging through me.

I was just another pathetic little girl who fell for the wrong man. Who would have thought that my Xavier would be as ruthless and cold-hearted as the person I was seeing who was standing right in front of me?

I was nothing.

*************************

Bringing my thoughts back to the present, Aiden snapped his fingers twice at my face. "Earth to Maya, Hello, Maya!" He waved and I staggered on the seat.

I was completely lost in thought throughout the flight to Miami.

"You're crying," Aiden said softly as his flaming eyes caught mine.

"Cr…Cry…ing." I stuttered as I placed my hands on my face and my eyes flowed with an ocean of tears. I quickly looked away feeling so embarrassed. "No, I'm…I'm not crying." I denied.

"You have tears in your eyes." Another voice chipped in and I looked up to meet the blonde-haired guy, Kylan. When did he get on the plane? I thought.

"It's…It's the plane, I have this disorder that makes me cry in planes. My eyes usually bring out water and the doctor said it is not…it is normal and not serious." I lied even though I knew they weren't buying it.

I stood up abruptly and smiled. I didn't want to look weak in front of them or anyone in general. "I am fine." I simply stated.

"Here," Kylan said and handed me a napkin. "You can keep it." He added while Aiden just stared at me.

"Can we go now?" I asked impatiently as I made my way out of the jet, leaving the both of them.

I climbed down the stairs cursing myself multiple times. "Get a grip of yourself, Maya," I said to myself.

I stood by the stairs as I felt the warm air heat my skin. "Wow." I gasped.

"Welcome to Miami, Mrs. Jabari." Kylan's voice sounded behind me.

I bowed my head down slightly. I was still getting a hang of the name. "Call me Maya and thank you for this," I replied as I held on to the napkin tightly.

"Maya got it, but if you ask me, I don't think my boss would like that." He said as his eyes were fixed on the plane. I traced his eyes and they fell on Aiden who was still on the plane. He had a long frown on his face as he walked down the plane stairs.

"Kylan talk, now." He said directly to Kylan and pointed at me as he handed me a black card. "And you, get into the car, my men will take you to the designer fashion house to get all the clothes and the stuff you need since you have nothing." He said to me in haste without giving me space to reply.

He pulled Kylan by the shirt and they walked to the other end of the private airport. "Hey! Where are you both going?" I screamed and as I wanted to follow them up, two men stood in my way. "Excuse me?" I said out loud.

"Madam, the boss orders. He said to take you to the designer's store and it is the designer store we would be heading to." One of the men said and he sounded a lot like a robot.

I rolled my eyes defeatedly. "So, this is how it's going to be. Great!" I said sarcastically and stared at the card.

"Uhmm he gave me a black card, fascinating," I muttered.

I turned around and as I walked toward the car, three men were behind me. With the look of things, I already knew that this was going to be a very long day with these three all over me.

It was quite a long ride to the store and to be honest, I was enjoying every bit of it. This was my first time in Miami and everywhere looked interesting. My entire body ached to visit them all.

It felt like I was free from a box and I was in another new world. Enjoying every view, we drove past a very big billboard, and as I was lost gazing at how large it was, Aiden's giant face popped up on the screen and I flinched.

"Ahh!"

Oh my God, I wasn't expecting to see the giant face of Aiden. The security men all stared at me and I gave a very awkward smile. "Sorry." I hissed between my teeth.

A couple of minutes later, the car stopped at the front of a large designer boutique. "Wow, this should be interesting."

I got out of the car and with every step I took, the security men followed me like pests. They were going to draw attention to me and I hated nothing more than that.

They stood by the door and watched around like hawks while I made my way into the boutique. Oh my Goodness, it even looked better on the inside.

I couldn't take my eyes off every single item in the boutique. This was the first time I was surrounded by so many expensive things. I didn't realize that my attitude when I entered the boutique was noticed and everyone started looking at me weirdly as my eyes gazed round the boutique.

I didn't care though, I wanted to enjoy the sight of this to the fullest and no one was going to stop me from living this very moment. It looked like how I usually watch it in movies but this one was even better.

The fashion, the splashes of colors, originality, limited editions, jewelry, all in one place.

Suddenly, my body collided with someone else. "Oh I am so sorryâ€"--"

Kpa!

I received a resounding slap that flew me across the room. "Can't you watch where you are going, you filthy rat?!" That was the first sentence I heard as I tried to regain my hearing.

I held my cheeks tightly and I glared at the person who had laid hands on me. I wanted to pounce my full flesh on the person and devour them without mercy. "How dare you?!" I retorted.

The young girl was about my age. She looked at me disgustedly, wore her black shades, and hissed. "Next time, you should watch where you are going. Don't bump into people anyhow like you want to steal from the-" She paused as her eyes widened and she gasped.

She went still for a few seconds and walked briskly away from me to the other end of the store where another exit was just a few steps away.

Angry as I was, I moved towards her, ready to pick a fight when I noticed she was on her phone. She turned to face me with a broad smile on her face. "Bingo! I'm gonna be rich." She muttered.

"Huh."

The next thing I saw was a piece of cloth on my face. Struggling to get loose from the grip of the cloth, my eyes were overshadowed by a thick darkness. "She's the Maya girl, pull her over."
