Life was relatively easy for the initiates over the next few days. Some spent their time in solitude, others threw themselves into training as they waited for the next batch of missions to be announced.
There was never a fixed schedule for when new missions would arrive, only that they had to stay ready. Eventually, most of the initiates grew complacent, whiling away the days in boredom.
Kiah, however, wasn't one of them. Her drive to grow stronger hadn't dimmed for a second, though she was admittedly eager to see what the next mission would bring.
What no one expected, however, was the way their next nightmare would begin.

Kiah's eyes flew open, her body snapping upright as the shrill sound rattled her ears.
'What the hell?' she thought, blinking in confusion as red lights pulsed outside her door.
