Future Visions
***Arin's POV***
As Siena's power struck my mind, everything around me shattered like shattered glass. All of a sudden, I was outside the cave. In my mind, I was simultaneously everywhere and nowhere, watching a thousand different futures unfold like movies. Every one is scarier than the last.
I was standing over Thanatos's lifeless body in the first vision, but my hands were covered in Kael's blood. In order to defeat our adversary and seize his power, I had killed him. Since everyone I cared about was gone, the victory was meaningless.
I muttered, "No," but the visions persisted.
To save me in the second one, Rowan flung himself in front of Thanatos's blade. Jaxon screamed my name as I watched him die in my arms. We prevailed in the war, but I hated myself for allowing him to give up everything for the rest of my life.
