The Last Attack Begins
***Arin's POV***
When Thanatos's corrupted power clashed with my purification magic, the world exploded. Two bolts of lightning shot out of my hands, one striking Rowan's infected wound and the other slamming into the red stone in Thanatos's weapon. Everyone was knocked to the ground by the shockwaves that were sent through the cave by the impact.
However, something went wrong. My magic built a bridge between the two targets rather than purifying them both. As Luna power surged into Thanatos's blade from Rowan, he let out a scream.
"What have you done?" Though I could hear excitement in his voice, Thanatos roared. His weapon's red stone started to glow brighter than before. However, it pulsed with pure silver energy rather than the tainted black light I had anticipated.
"The stone is fighting back," I exclaimed as I became aware of the situation. "It still remembers being a part of the original Moonwell!"
