20XX technological advancements allowed people to fully immerse all their senses in a simulated world and the full dive system was born.
It didn't take long for developers to make videogames for this new and exciting hardware and the age of advanced virtual reality games has started.
Many games were born and hailed as the greatest ones ever, but one was built for a different reasons. Following in the steps of an old genre a game called Tower of The Demon God was made. The game required players to conquer a tower where even the basic encounters offered challenge, the locations were confusing and bosses were brutal.
Two years after release when everyone thought beating the game was just a pipe dream, one person was standing on the 100th level of the tower at the fallen body of the final boss.
On the flat top of the tower surrounded with clouds and well lit by the sun, where only a single wall filled with runes was standing, a young guy wearing ragged and broken plate armor was standing in front of an over 5 meters tall demon. It's fur burned on multiple places, both bat like wings cut down next to it in-between countless broken weapons and armor pieces, but the most apparent wound on it was a fully white simple spear between it's eyes a last deadly blow that has finished it.
The young man stretched himself like he was waiting for something to happen. He looked around then walked to the edge of the tower.
- I didn't expect much, but to fully cover everything with clouds? The developers really didn't want you to look at the surrounding areas, did they?
After looking around he turned to the boss and kicked it.
- You are not going to stand up are you? Like a third phase?
He furrowed his brows and looked at the ground.
- Nothing but the piles of weapons and armors I have painstakingly collected over the last 3 months. Not even a marking anywhere. Why is the game not ending yet?
He looked at the wall filled with runes.
- Maybe you have to touch it or something? But the game should have at least acknowledged I have killed the boss.
He paused with a shocked expression on his face.
- Wait a second! Don't tell me the devs didn't expect that someone could beat the game and didn't even finish it?!
He grabbed his helmet and threw it at the ground.
- Whatever. The recording will be worth it. I bet it will get me more than ten million views! Hahaha...
He laughed heartily while walking up to the wall.
- I bet everyone will suspect I have cheated. Even though it's impossible, not like no-one has ever tried of course, but believe me dear viewers, it's impossible!
He flailed around the air explaining it to the future viewers of the video "I have beaten the unbeatable game!". He finally arrived at the wall and reached out to it.
- Let it be known that the person who beat this game is Mank th...
But his speech was cut short, because as soon as he touched the wall everything went black.
