Chapter 6 - Dad

CHAPTER 6

LEONARDO'S POV

My laughter echoed in the room, tearing off the silence. The laughter seized absurdly as it started as if it was caught in my throat. Just as it started without warning it also stopped. There was an eerie silence, which was oppressively broken only by the sound of dripping water somewhere in the distance.

I shot him a death glance and he swallowed, the tears rolled down his eyes more than before.

"Enough!" my voice sharp and firm, cut through the silence, I took a step closer to him and I could see how much he trembled in fear with every step I took.

More like it, fear was what I commanded. I don't know why I had forgotten about that for a short time but seeing all this being played out was a great reminder that I was still one of the most feared mafia in all of the country and beyond.

Everyone knew that and I'm sure she would get to know that soon enough. Isla will.

"Stop acting like a toddler, crying? That won't solve your case. How dare you?" I asked, my voice still cold.

"I swear, I had no idea what came over me… It was a mistake…I" he spoke, his voice shook with fear and I hissed, and he stopped midway through his boring speech.

"Mistake? A mistake you say?" I muttered.

He stole from me and called it a mistake? Does he think I would believe such bullshit?

With the kind of money he stole there was no way he would remain in this country, it was obvious that he was sent, he took that money for someone and I was not going to kill him until I found out who it was.

"Oh come on, you and I know there is no mistake in this. You have planned this for three months before you made a move. I have been watching you so don't you dare tell me it's a mistake!" I yelled angrily and his face fell.

He knew he was fucked, I could see it in his eyes, there was no hope in them anymore and he was right he his fucked up big time.

"Forgive… just this once" he pleaded, his eyes watered with tears and I scoffed.

"Forgiveness? Who sent you? If you tell me I might as well think about it" I answered my eye precised deep into his as i tried to search his soul.

There was hesitation in his eyes, his lips quivered with uncertainty and I chuckled lightly. I turned back and walked toward the table, picked up the pistol and strolled towards him.

"I don't have all night, so what do you say?" I answered pointing the gun on his forehead. He trembled the moment the gun touched his forehead and swallowed hard.

"I would die if I told you" he answered and a devilish smile played on my lips.

He would die anyway so what was the point? I retrieved the gun from his forehead and he let out a sigh. But without warning, I shot him on the right knee and a groan of agony erupted from his throat.

I scoffed as I shook my head in pity, what a fool! He is so scared to die but completely forgot I could kill him myself.

"Ow I missed, sorry… my bad," I said making a face as I watched him panting in intensive pain.

"Please…please Leo" he begged, his breath shaking and I let out a sigh.

"You really are something? Just tell me who sent you and you might leave here with just a broken leg or is one knee not enough? You want me to take an arm too?" I threatened and he shook his head in denial.

"I was sent by…" there was a hesitation in his voice and I hated the suspense so I shot him in his left shoulder.

"Marco!" he screamed, "Marco sent me… please let me go, please" he babbled and I chucked.

I guessed right, that son of a bitch!

"Leo" Luca called and I turned to face him.

"What the fuck is it this time?" I asked, visibly burning with anger and he handed over the phone to me, I took it from him and placed it on my ear.

"Come here now" I heard the caller speak and I let out a sigh and ended the call.

"Take care of him" I instructed as I handed the gun to Luca. He nodded firmly and I turned to leave.

"You are going to let me go right? I told you the truth" Spencer yelled and I scoffed.

That bastard thinks he would walk out of here alive?

"I thought about forgiving you but I just can't" I responded and left without turning back and completely ignoring his plea.

I brought the car to a halt and lowered the car window, my gaze met the guard's eyes and he immediately lowered his and bowed his head in respect. It was normal for people to identify themselves before they were allowed entry into the De Luca empire but I hated the idea. It was best to keep intruders away but it was time-wasting for me.

"Don't you know my car when you see it?" I asked, my voice hinting with annoyance and impatience and he bowed.

"I'm sorry sir" he apologized and turned to the gate giving them a signal to open and it did immediately. I drove off without hesitation.

I was greeted by the familiar view of the rich and luxurious decor of the living room and I let out a deep sigh as the familiar smell of cigars hit my nostrils. Their feeling of nostalgia hit me evoking the memories I thought I had completely forgotten about.

"Let's get this over with and go back home" I muttered as I let out a deep sigh. I just hate coming here.

"Leonardo", a familiar voice, drags me out of my thoughts and I turn to meet the familiar face of Don Vito De Luca.

"Dad," I called slowly as I walked towards him.
