Chapter 1 - The Don: 1

"Hello?" A frown adorned my face as my voice echoed throughout the empty room, a bit concerned & confused at just how barren the room looked apart from the futon that I had awoken on.

That was my first sign that something was wrong as I own a twin-size bed and not a futon, along with the fact that while my room at home was slightly on the larger size, it was not as large as the size of a penthouse living room.

The second sign were the windows being sealed off with metal walls, leaving me both bewildered at how the hell someone even managed to do that with me sleeping and highly confused at just where the hell I was.

There was also just one wooden door and it was directly across from me, which left me with a sense of unease since something could just dive through at any moment and scare the absolute shit out of me.

However, there was at least something that comforted & calmed me down, that being the fact that I still had on the pair of baggy shorts & tank top that I had on before I went to sleep, meaning that whoever kidnapped me only took me away & placed me somewhere else.

"Okay, okay, Don. You're locked away in some random placed after some person probably kidnapped you, so what you're going to do is first check if the door's open." With a makeshift plan ready, I frowned as I took my first steps towards the door, grabbing the knob and hiding right behind it before ripping the door open with a grunt.

Waiting until something charged through, a sigh of relief escaped my lips as nothing did before I took a quick peek around it only to blink at the vast abyss that was outside the room with a single iridescent path hanging above it & leading to a gazebo on a small patch of grassy ground far off in the distance.

"Nope." I spoke instantly as I went to close the door, frowning as it didn't want to budge before gritting my teeth as I tried to force it close.

"I! Am not! Going out!" I gritted out as I continued to push at the back of the door before falling to my face with a grunt, groaning at the pain before shaking my head & looking out at the void once more.

"I don't mind staying he-why the hell is the room getting smaller?" I muttered whilst looking at the room that was slowly shrinking, grumbling as I realized that whatever put me in here now wanted me out there.

'I swear I did not think my luck would be this shitty.' I thought with a groan as I finally took my first step out before jumping as the room vanished into thin air behind, leaving nothing more than an empty void other than the path & the gazebo.

"…I'm suicidal enough to just jump…but then I'd be pissed at myself for not taking the fun path." I muttered out loud as I looked between the abyss below me and the gazebo in front of me that was calling out my name, looking between the two objects before groaning as I turned & started walking down the path.

I hate my curiosity.

It barely took me a minute to cross the distance between me & the gazebo and I completely ignored the fact that the path behind me was slowly cracking & falling into the abyss below as I looked at the singular table underneath it.

On top of the table were two objects and while the brown envelope on it confused me slightly, I was completely shocked at the photograph that was the second item.

After all, which Bleach fan does not know the handsome visage of the 'The New Century's Premier Specialist' Don Kanonji.

'Damn, that's a throwback. The last time I saw a Bleach episode was almost five years ago, the episode being Ichigo beating Ginjo after he got his Shinigami powers back.' I did hear rumours of a new Bleach anime coming out that involved the arc that came after the whole Fullbringer situation, but unfortunately, work made me forget about anime and I was always too busy to just read the manga.

The only reason I remember Don Kanonji was because he was a shaman and that reminded me of one of my other favourite manga called Shaman King, which I also haven't read in a goddamn while.

"And now I'll never be able to. Man, regret really does come too late." I muttered with a sigh before shaking my head as I looked at the envelope, deciding to leave the photo of the Don alone for now as I reached down to pick it up before opening it.

Inside of it, I found just a folded up page and a ticket that said 'Soul Transfer' on its front, turning it around & finding nothing but a smiling skull giving a thumbs-up on the back.

"…Let's leave that for later." I muttered as I placed the ticket on the ground, unfolding the paper before blinking at the simple explanation on the paper.

You died. You're in Limbo. Dive down into the abyss to go to Hell or take the ticket to start a new life.

From the Prince of Hell, Lucifer.

Bye~!

P.S. I would hold the photo on the table before activating the ticket to get a nice surprise.

"…At least, it's quick & direct, even if it was written by the devil himself." I muttered with a sigh before dropping the letter as it burst into the flames, watching as it completely burned away the paper entirely before shaking my head as I looked at the photo of Don & the ticket next to it.

'An eternity of torture or a new life? Gee, I wonder which one sounds better?' I thought sarcastically as I picked up the photo of Don and gripped it tightly before picking up the Soul Transfer ticket with a slight frown as I spun it around.

"So, how the hell do I activate yo-!" I couldn't finish my sentence as the ticket lit up & nearly blinded me, my last thought being me cursing my curiosity before both the ticket & the photo disintegrated in my grasp and my vision went completely white.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As the light finally died down, I had to blink a few times to get my vision to stop looking like I was stuck in a dark room with black-out blinds for a week, stumbling a bit before frowning slightly as I heard the echo of leather on tiled flooring.

"…Oh, this is most definitely not my apartment." I muttered out loud as I stared at the lavish bedroom, more specifically the queen-size bed besides me with thick comforters & sateen sheets.

'Wait, how the hell do I even know what sateen even is?' I thought with a frown as I went to scratch my head before freezing at the dark-skinned arm in my vision, knowing full well that my skin was more milk coffee and not the dark caramel colour I was currently looking at me.

Looking around the bedroom that was filled with expensive stuff left & right, I caught sight of a large floor to ceiling mirror in front of me before freezing at the figure that looked directly at me, its tall & thin build far different from my tall & stocky build that I was used to.

Reaching up for the afro on my head, I slowly went to rub the immaculate moustache on my face that looked the place of my usual goatee whilst walking closer to the mirror, unable to believe that the fact I, Donovan Kane, was now in the body of Don Kanonji.

The Don Kanonji.

The meme demon of Bleach that was equal to Buggy D. Clown and Teuchi the Sage of Six Bowls.

'Wait, so…so all of that was real?' I thought in shock as I remembered the void from earlier and the letter.

"So, I'm actually…hehe…I'm actually in the Bleach universe? Heh…hehehe…hahahahahahaha! Ahahahahahaha!" I didn't even know why I was laughing, but it just felt right.

Perhaps, it was the shock from the fact that I died in my past life finally hitting me.

Perhaps, it was the fear I felt from being placed in a world where gods of death fought against the monsters that hid inside shadows.

Perhaps it was the excitement I felt as I realized that I was in the body of one of the coolest characters in the universe or for the fact that I had the opportunity to alter events as I wished.

"Ahahahahahahaha!" Whatever the reason…

I finally felt alive.

I don't know how long I laughed or how I ended with tears running down my face and ending up on the floor, but as I looked up at the ceiling above me, all I could feel was excitement & exhilaration pulsing through my body.

I died, woke up in Limbo and was reincarnated into another world all in the span of just a few minutes from my point of view.

For the average person, they would have been overloaded with all the truth bombs & stimulation, but for any anime lover like myself who craved that need to alter the story as we see fit, the memory overflow just felt right.

Don Kanonji's memories were fun to watch through, from his early childhood days where he went into haunted locations with his friends & protected them from the monsters in the shadows to his life now as a TV sensation, travelling from town to town across Japan while exorcising spirits left & right.

I did feel bad after going through Donovan's memories and realizing that I was just killing Hollows instead of helping them pass on through to the next life, but now, I could actually say that I'm going to help spirits pass on while making a lot of money.

And it was a lot of money.

My appearance fee alone was nearly ¥15,000,000 and if they actually wanted me to exorcise something, that's another ¥25,000,000.

Even if we go by old conversion rates…that's a shit ton of money and apparently, I only use my cash for travel, accommodation and the odd fast food meal here and there.

Nothing else.

'I'm definitely getting my agent on investing some of the money. Just about a tenth of it.' I thought with a hum as I sat up, wiping the tear marks away before grinning as I stood up & walked over to the phone, picking it up before typing in the number of the aforementioned person.

"Hello, Mr. Kanonji! I must say it's quite a surprise to hear from you this early."

'Right, Don Kanonji usually wakes up at 11:00.' I thought with a slight frown before shaking my head as I realized that I was now a new person.

"Don't worry about it, Nakamura. Listen, I'm going to need you to run over to the bank and get me bank statements on every account I have."

"E-Every account, sir?"

"Every single one. Also…swing on by a few clothing stores and get me some new threads."

"A-As you wish, sir."

"Thank you, Nakamura. See you in an hour." I greeted and put the phone down, crossing my arms while looking around the room before shrugging as I picked it up again.

"Hello, this is the Nakatomi Hotel Reception. How may I help you?"

"Hello, can you connect me to Room Service, please? If you can't, this order is going to take a while so I'd suggest getting a pen and paper ready."

A/N: And we are opening with a weird ending to the prologue.

To explain, this SI is based off of my more greedy & curious side that loves to do experiments and stuff like that.

I'm not saying that this character is going to be a genius on par with Aizen, Urahara or Mayuri, but he is going to be a bit smarter than the average person.

Also, I couldn't figure out how to start the story, but when I did, the ideas just kept flowing.

Like always, you can go to my Pat-reon-.-com-/-KingCrimsonNova to read ahead on this as well as many other stories & even some that haven't been released out to this site yet. If you want to, you are free to, but if you don't want, all's good as I will still be uploading here. This is just me trying to get some extra cash.
