Chapter 1 - The Shannara Chronicles —1

The last thing Everson saw before his death was his sister plunging a blade through his chest, then it was darkness.

Darkness so profound that it felt unreal. In that darkness he stayed though, for years or hours? He didn't know.

What he did know though was that when that darkness disappeared, he found himself staring at three blue stones.

Three blue stones that he knew all too well, how could he not when he had just seen them on the TV screen while binge watching The Shannara Chronicles series.

Now he just felt fucking stupid having not finished the series, not even the freaking first season!

' No....'

He immediately understood what had happened but he didn't want to believe it, so he immediately looked around and found himself threading a road alongside his steed.

He touched his blonde hair and grimaced. His hair had been an inky black, not this.

Quickly he then grabbed his face and once more grimaced, not recognising his facial structure.

He knew that he probably looked a lot like Will, the protagonist of the show.

" I'm fucked..." Even his voice was like his.

Surprisingly though he felt no anger, fear or confusion of his situation even as his horse softly threaded forward.

He felt only a sense of wonder.

Who wouldn't?— He knew that this place held magic. Freaking Magic! Anyone with any sense of adventure whilst feeling disconnected with their normal life would be excited about this prospect.

The three stones in his hands would also be of great help to him, they held magic that would help him greatly.

Especially against the threat of demons.

So he immediately pocketed them away in an inconspicuous pocket under his clothes before looking around himself.

He didn't know where he was.

He afterall didn't get Will's memories, only bits of knowledge of who he was and some more important knowledge.

He had just entered a field of yellow grass when it happened.

[— Congratulations! You've activated The Great Pool System!]

[—A system that allows the host to pull from an ever filling pool of 100 items, whether they be skills, perks or other!]

[—As you are a new host you'll be granted 5 Pulls!]

[—To further facilitate these pulls and grant the host a start, each of these pulls will be further cemented in your past. It'll be as if these gifts have always been a part of you, from the moment you were born.]

The knowledge that suddenly bombarded his head almost knocked him off his horse, he scrunched down bracing the pain as he facilitated it.

' A system?'

[—Initiating Pulls!]

He hadn't even had time to brace himself first before it happened, again.

[—Ding! Congratulations! You've received the Perk System!— Analysis Junkie - You have a gift. A gift that most would kill to have, yours is that of understanding through analysis. You are able to analyse objects and understand their mechanisms, properties and uses at breakneck speeds. This also gives you an innate boost on your comprehension ability, making you able to understand concepts and learn way faster than normally possible.]

And then it truly began.

Just as the system had said, whatever he obtained from here until all 5 rolls have been pulled would be cemented in the very fabric of time.

First was his memories.

They weren't changed to his relief, instead he found that he remembered a new life of Will Everson Ohmsford.

In this life he was a bright and often scarily good kid at what he concentrated on as he grew up, this with his mother's sickness had caused him to thread the road of a healer and he took at it like a fish in water.

He studied from their local healer, useless as he may have been he still have some theoretical knowledge that he made use of, then using that knowledge he branched off into botany and then herbology.

He studied plants and their medical properties and how he could use them to save his mother but everything failed and yesterday was his last day of trying to save his mother.

She had died so he at the first light of the next day had taken a horse and left, alongside, he brought many medical plants and 3 magical stones called the blue elfstones.

He marveled at how all this knowledge suddenly bombarded him, memories that felt so natural as if he had lived them.

His new history had shifted from the original Wil, all in all though he was happy with the changes.

[—Initiating Pull!]

[—Ding! Congratulations! You've received the Perk!— Innate Magic: Synergy - You have unlocked a powerful magic. This magic is called synergy, which allows the user the ability to synergies two or more concepts into one better form. Be careful though, depending on what you synergies, you may end up dead or worse.]

' Synergy?' Was the only thought that came to him before once more, history changed.

In this new history even though not much had changed overall, he instead was the one that changed.

On his tenth birthday, on a cave underneath a lake that he liked visiting so much had found that he was gifted.

Gifted with magic.

Of course though he had to research and even ask a lot of people before he figured that out, but once he did he had started experimenting.

First he used this magic of his in making poultices, he with his synergy ability used normal medical formulas but imbued each herb and ingredient with his magic and the end result was that they were better in every way.

Healing medicine would take half the time it would take normal medicine to heal someone.

Each and every medicine he made using this ability worked just better. Though he had this amazing ability and in working in tandem with [Analysis Junkie], he still couldn't make something to cure his mother of her ailment.

He had kept his magic secret, never showing anyone even his father before he disappeared.

Though as he grew up he had started selling his wares, earning quite a lot of gold and even renown in his little village in the Vale.

So as he was brought back from the dreamstate that showed him his history changing, he groaned feeling as magic suddenly etched itself in his body and became one with him.

He felt the magic inside him and even in the air, as thin as it was vibrate for a moment before it settled.

' Fuck! That was a rush...' He thought feeling a lot better all of a sudden, he dismissed that as a magic thing.

One peculiar thing though was that he could now sense the magic practically oozing out of the Blue Elfstones in their pouch carefully secured on his chest.

He didn't have time to ponder on that though as once more the system hummed to life.
