' Oh fuck.'

He knew this one was gonna hurt more than the other ones, so he braced himself and it happened—History was rewritten for the third time that day.

In this new history he after learning from many herbologists and that one useless healer in his village, he awakened his innate magic [Synergy] which took his learning to new heights but one day while looking for new plants to study he had stumbled upon a cave.

In this cave he found a long dead skeleton and laying besides it was a bag, a bag that held five books.

He took the bag and books and studied them in his free time if he wasn't making medicine or elixirs for his mother.

He found out that they were magic books and after finding that out, he read through them with fevour and understood them in a matter of weeks.

Then he started practicing and all came easily to him, magic felt like a second calling and with [Analysis Junkie] by his side he had learnt to cast them easily.

Then he focused back on his main mission, to save his mother.

So applying what he knew of magic he first tried [Spell - Rejuvenate] to heal his mother, ultimately that failed for reasons he didn't understand.

Then he tried [Spell - Cleanse] but again, nothing.

He ultimately grew frustrated that he 'accidentally' used his innate magic [Synergy] to these two spells and found that it was a lot stronger and had way more use then the sum of its parts.

Again though, he failed in curing his mother of whatever ailment that wrecked his mother's body.

He did note though that her body seemed to become healthier and better, but she still suffered from whatever ailed her.

So he delved deeper into his studies in herbology and medicine but still came short even though he made great strides in both magic and medicine.

A side effect of his training was that he had become incredibly famous in his village, having been able to cure and heal anyone that came for his help even without the use or revelation of his magic.

He made a lot of money, he using this improved his and his families living conditions.

Coupled with the fact that he could grow rare plants and sell them at bulk, he didn't have much to need in his little village.

But alas, his mother died and gave him the elfstones just like in the other timelines.

' Okay, I don't think saving my... Wil's mother is possible. If magic couldn't save her then the problem lays far beyond what any past Wil could do.' He thought frowning.

He felt like Heady, Wil's mother dying was some sort of....canon event that couldn't be stopped no matter how capable he became.

But he sat back on his horse, not wanting to judge to soon.

After all, there were still two more pulls to go by, meaning that two more timelines before his timeline settled.

He did not miss the fact that all the while this was happening, his outfit had changed to fine silk and great leather. His horse changed from brown to black and it looked even stronger than his old one with more padding on it, even his luggage changed.

' Probably from all the money I now apparently had.' He thought with a grin.

But once again, the system stirred and he again pulled from his musing.

[—Ding! Congratulations! You've received the Perk — The Call of the Forge! - The Fires of the forge stir in your presence, ores resonate at your touch. This perk grants the user a supernatural affinity for forging, whether it be armour, weapons or simple tools— You can craft then all but way better.

- This also comes with the ability to imbue magic into their creations by using Arcane means, techniques have been imbued into your mind of how to imbue magic into items and of how to make magical ingots that can facilitate and handle magic.]

' Ah fuck, more magic.' He thought, he didn't know whether to be happy or apprehensive.

On one hand, Magic!

But on the other, his mind was on fire from assimilating what amounted to three lifetime's of memories and skills, each better than the last.

But he couldn't further dwell on that as again it happened.

To his surprise though, in this life not much had changed.

He still learnt herbology and medicine, he still found those magic books and learnt them but in this one he seemed to have gained an interest for forging.

So he had decided to learn both healing and smithing.

And like a fish in water, he took at it like he was born to shape metal.

So with his supernatural talent in forging thanks to [The Call of the Forge] which he Synergies with [Analysis Junkie] and the spell [Spell - Mould] he became even better than their local blacksmith in two weeks.

Then he moved camp and using the cave connected to the waterfall, he made it his workshop.

With his skills in smithing he created a plethora of tools and even his own forge there, he mined out the rocks and made it homely and practical to his uses.

But that wasn't all.

As he was studying magic, healing and smithing he had gotten the idea to imbue magic into his creations.

And so he tried for the first time, strangely he found that he already had the knowledge on how to do this and with his perks and magic he took it a step further.

He instead of imbuing magic into a his creations and giving them random properties that would grow over time, because he still didn't have means of imbuing certain attributes in items yet he instead used [Synergy] making it the gateway for his experiment.

He made a ring and imbued it with magic but right at the finishing touches, he channeled the [Spell - Cleanse] into it with a clear image of what he interpreted the magic to form inside the ring.

And he succeeded.

Instead of a normal magical ring with random properties, he obtained a ring that if he focused on it would draw magic inside him and then his body and clothes would suddenly be clean.

He had made his first magic item that day, but that wouldn't be his last.

Overtime he learnt to shorten the time to make his magical items, with [Spell - Mould] he could skip a lot of smithing phases which with his already supernatural speed in smithing and crafting made it so he could churn out basic magic items quickly.

But that wasn't his intention.

He once more focused on his mother.

He made trinkets for her and imbued them with spells like [Spell - Cleanse] and [Spell - Rejuvenate] in the most creative ways.

He made a cup for her that cleansed anything poured into it and even added properties for rejuvenation in whatever was inside the cup.

He made a bed that he imbued with [Spell - Rejuvenate] to constantly try and heal her and many other's like so.

Coupled with his medicines and elixirs he gave her, he saw her getting better, she could even stand for a while and even talk to him and shockingly enough he was even given the [Elfstones] early in this life as his mother regaled him with stories of his father Shea Ohmsford.

He had thought that everything that he had been doing was working.

He had been wrong as just like every timeline, she had died on the exact same day.

His journey always led him to where he stood right now, on his horse riding for Storlock or so he thought.

' Damn, I was right.' He thought frowning.

He didn't know how to feel about the fact that even when it had seemed that everything was working out, he still failed.

Well, Wil had failed but it was the same thing.

He was glad that even after experiencing 4 timelines of memories, he was still him.

He wasn't really affected by Heady dying, that was Wil's mother, not his.

He was a new man now, he wouldn't allow thoughts of sentimentality cloud him, especially to a life he never lived and only remembers.

He then looked at himself, he found that a lot was different with his outfit now.

He was now wearing leather armour with solf black silk underneath, he even had a beautiful glistening sword on his hip.

All of them were imbued with magic, nothing much though as he still only had 5 spells to draw on for his 'enchantments'.

Some of his things were just imbued with magic and left to collect magic so they could birth their own properties.

He understood that the process of properties appearing on magic imbued items was a long or just random one.

They could obtain properties in time with use, feeding on any outside stimulus they obtained to birth their properties and traits.

This could be as random as sword killing a hundred man, thus granting the blade an increased boost to itself when facing mortal man.

Or even a sword stabbing into a king which would grant the sword the ability to boost its users capabilities when fighting against a king.

It was random when an item was imbued and left to grow itself.

Though if he used magical ores with properties then that item would be born with already realised properties which could further grow in time or never at all.

As if the system had enough of his thoughts, it hummed once more.
