Chapter 4 - The Shannara Chronicles —4

The road towards his goal was uneventful to say the least, he simply held on to his Elfstones, slowly feeding it magic while controlling his horse subconsciously.

At the moment he was using the stones seeking capabilities.

As for what he was seeking?

Knowledge of course.

Not just any knowledge though but magical knowledge.

He didn't know whether he was using the elfstones right or not.

From what he read on the Wiki, the stones led their wielder to what they desired most, so he wasn't sure whether him consciously feeding the stones the thoughts that he was seeking magical knowledge would work or not.

And yes, he had read the Shannara Wiki.

But if he was being truthful to himself, he just skimmed through the damn thing and only read what caught his interest, even then it was only of the show universe, not the book universe.

So he knew some things and even some beings that he'd face aside from the Dadga Mor.

That is if he fucking lives long enough though.

So as he was threading across this world he found himself in, he didn't expect to face himself with an axe twirling straight for his head.

Luckily for him though, he had trained his senses and reaction speed enough that his hand easily grabbed the handle of the axe before with great accuracy he sent it straight to its owner.

Unlike him though he wasn't so lucky as to grab it from the air or dodge, so he met his untimely end by axe etching itself into his skull.

' Slow...' He thought seeing as the man, huge and gruff also wearing nothing but black covering his entire body.

He sighed already knowing what the creature was.

It was a troll.

A radioactive mutation of the human from way back into this worlds history.

He first looked around himself, finding no other threats in sight he then dismounted his slight agitated horse and made his way towards the troll.

His blade quickly met the light of the sun as he unsheathed it just for good measure.

His paranoia was warranted as he saw the thing twitch before laying still.

He frowned seeing this before his paranoia again creeped in.

So he reached to his back, just under his black leather jacket and pulled out a small throwing knife before with quick succession he threw the dagger straight at its heart.

He watched as the dagger dug so cleanly inside the troll that it disappeared, it's armour which was a mismatch of metal plates over worn out leather doing nothing for its protection.

And there it was, what he had expected to see when the axe had burried into the things face.

He also now wondered how it had survived.

The trolls in the series weren't this durable, so maybe it had been a mutation that they had that just didn't make it to the series?

But then again they weren't shown that much in the first place.

' I wish I fucking read the books, some of this shit would actually make sense.'

Sighing to himself in slight annoyance he reached just behind where the sheath of his blade was, he pulled out a knife that he made for when he hunted and immediately got to work.

He was a healer and he knew for damn sure that this thing probably had properties in its body that could be of use, if he found out what they were.

Also, he wouldn't leave his damn knife here.

It was magical in nature and better in every way from normal ones, it had no enchantment on it but it was still a league ahead of normal ones so he wouldn't be leaving valuable items behind if he could help it.

So after few minutes and after calling over his horse and grabbing all the necessary containers he was done.

Now he had his knife back and other valuable(probably) material at hand.

He had taken out the things eyes, tongue, heart and brain.

He atleast could conclude that these things were both ugly on the outside and the inside.

How they had been humans once baffled him.

So after washing his hands and packing up his loot back in his bag he was about to carry on when he heard a snap of twig a distance away.

He did not hesitate and pulled out two throwing knives, spinning around to the direction of the noise he stood there ready to throw at any moment.

There he found a girl, someone that he knew from the series too.

' Oh, her.'

He frowned debating on whether to kill her right then and there.

After all she was the very girl that had stolen Wil's Elfstones after drugging him.

He didn't know what happened to her at the last episodes of season one so he didn't know whether she got her redemption arc and and joined Wil's mission or not but from what he remembers then that was what he thought would have happened.

" Wait! Don't thow!" She quickly muttered slowly inching down the small hill she had been standing at.

" Take one more step and imbedding these knives into your eyes." He threatened her with a frown and it seemingly worked as she stopped just halfway down the hill.

" I'm unarmed, I just heard noise and wanted to see what was going on okay?" She said and for a moment he almost believed her.

She was good, that much was apparent but a quick evaluation of her had him chuckling.

" Oh yeah? Then what are those throwing knives doing under your sleeves?" He asked her tilting his head subtly showing his pointy ears.

Her eyes immediately caught them.

" You're an elf." She stated looking 'shocked'.

" Half-Elf." He corrected her." Now stop stalling, tell me what you really want and I might not make you look like a porcupine."

She looked right at him and sighed." Okay, you got me."

" So?" He asked her hiding the surprise at how easily she relented.

" I come here from time to time, if I'm lucky then I might find a frightened horse with stuff on it." She said with 'shame' on her face." if not then I find a corpse with its stuff still on it and loot them."

She looked seemingly uncomfortable at having to confess that.

Had it been anyone they would have probably believed some part of her story. Him though? Not a chance.

But he'd play along, he had nothing to lose and everything to win after all.

He had an inkling that the main cast of the series would net him a good chunk of rolls, so killing her would be a bit of a waste.
