Ember bowed towards Calliok. "I will appreciate your guidance, Master." She said earnestly
That beady stare of his rested anew on her, holding her captive. He seemed to be contemplating his next words, although Ember knew he was hardly one to think of what to say.
Calliok Vex always had words on the tips of his tongue, ready to lash out whenever he willed it. His hesitation was merely a tactic on his part; one more often than not aimed to make his opponent squirm under the weight of his stare.
But Ember didn't squirm, she held his stare.
"There was this fire in your eyes when you were fourteen, Elara," he said, "that fire told me you're someone who would do anything to get the job done. So while I might be impressed by how you handled those ancient beings of Vaskor, there's much left to be desired."
