Felix could only sigh at the sight of his siblings. He no longer wished to keep the truth from them.
"Souls who have forgotten their identity and the reason they remain in our world are called lost souls," he explained gently. "When a soul lingers in the living world for a year or more, their memories gradually fade, along with the purpose that anchors them here. A soul that's not at peace—one whose death was not meant to happen—wanders endlessly in darkness until its identity disappears."
That was the tragic fate of a soul that could not accept or make peace with its death.
Felix looked around and saw Ellese once again, quietly listening. Her spirit had been haunting him for months, and more and more restless souls were now appearing before him.
"Does that mean our parents are becoming lost souls too?" he heard Ellese ask Jenny.
Felix simply nodded, the memory of what he had once tried to share with her long forgotten—back when he had first reached out as a child.
"Ellese told me they might regain their memories if we discover what our parents want us to do," Thalia said, observing the souls of their parents.
That's the truth, Felix. Felisa had once said the same thing.
"You really want to put my siblings in danger," he finally voiced his concern.
We don't want to put them in danger, his spirit companion insisted.
"They're talking to Big Brother," his younger sibling suddenly said.
"Who?" the younger one asked.
"That's Felisa and Ellese," Greg answered.
Thalia let out a soft sigh. "Ellese, I'll help Jasmin. That's all."
Your sister is still willing to help me, Felix, Ellese responded.
Felix remained silent, no longer knowing what to say.
"You've already found out about our connection to the Fuego family. What are your plans now?" he finally asked.
"Brother, I plan to return to the place where it all happened. I want to understand why it happened," Thalia answered simply, her gaze calm but resolute.
Felix frowned at her response.
"Are you out of your mind? Do you know that the Fuegos are hiding there?" Jenny asked, alarmed.
"Sister Jenny, this journey is mine to take. I have so many questions—and I know the answers lie there."
"That's why I saw you digging in my premonition?" Felix asked.
"Digging?" Thalia looked confused.
"In my vision, you were digging—just like Fernan before he died. He was digging something up, but he never remembered what," Felix said.
Jenny gasped, even swallowing hard. "Brother, what were they digging?"
"I don't know. Fernan couldn't recall either."
"Maybe it's all connected. That's why I need to find the answers," Thalia replied.
Felix scratched his head. He didn't want to argue with her, but he also didn't know how to stop her.
"You can't go alone."
"Brother, in my premonition, Thalia wasn't alone," Jenny interjected.
"I can take care of myself. I know you're doing your part to uncover the mystery around us," Thalia said calmly.
"Who was I with, sis? Was it Ericka?" Greg asked Jenny.
Felix listened closely, his curiosity growing.
"Besides Ericka, there was someone else," he said.
Suddenly, Felix found himself in a dense forest. He realized he was traveling again—another premonition. Only the light of the moon illuminated his path.
He heard footsteps and turned toward the sound. Three shadows were approaching—fast and urgent.
"Thalia!" one of them called.
He heard her panting. "They're hiding something here," one of her companions said.
"Ericka?" a woman appeared, her head bowed.
In the moonlight, the shadows slowly became clearer. Felix could now see three women digging together in the forest.
His sister moved slightly away from the others, gripping a knife.
"This is where Fernan was digging," she said.
Felix knew he needed to find a landmark—something his sister could recognize to prove this vision.
As the vision began to fade, he spotted one. He would describe it to Thalia later.
He returned to reality, holding his forehead. Thalia and Jenny were staring at him, clearly concerned.
He sighed deeply.
"I think we need to help each other now," he said solemnly. "Promise me you won't put yourselves in danger."
Felix was determined to end the Fuegos' game once and for all. As his siblings disappeared from view, he felt the weight of responsibility on his shoulders.
"Brother, be careful. I can see danger surrounding you," Jenny said, her voice trembling with fear.
He didn't respond. He had made his decision.
He would let Thalia pursue her search for truth—but he would make sure no harm came to her.
He would use every connection he had in the organization, and reach out to people he trusted.
"Brother," Greg spoke.
Felix turned to face him.
"We need to hurry. Their memories… they're fading fast," Greg said, pointing ahead.
Felix saw his cousin and the innocent victims of the past tragedy. He remained silent.
He had already set things in motion. He knew the day would come when his siblings would discover the full truth—and they would all be involved, whether they were ready or not.
