Chapter 22 - CHAPTER 22

"Then, grandfather, I will still be your only disciple." Amishta pouted.

"Since you wanted to be my disciple, then I want you to be who you are. Don't hide yourself. I didn't observe you well in our first meeting, but I just blindly accepted you as my disciple because you are my granddaughter, but after these days, I was absolute with my hunch about you from the beginning," Amishta curiously states at her grandfather.

"I knew that you don't really need a teacher for martial arts since you are proficient at it. Though I didn't know what technique you were using, it is totally dangerous. Your only downside is that you lack strength; you are not used to fighting with a sword, and lastly, the reason why you found me is because you never went to a war."

"Grandfather, I really wanted to learn everything from you," Amishta sincerely said. She meant it.

"Yes, but I also wanted to learn from you. I will sincerely impart everything from you, but how can I really teach you if I don't really know you? You are surely my granddaughter, but as I look at you, I can only see a blank space. You wanted to hide yourself, yet you wanted to start. How can you start your life if you can't let go?"

"I---" Amishta becomes emotional.

"As I said, you are proficient enough with martial arts, but I will still impart some teaching of our sect to you. I will make sure Hiro will train you to hold a sword and fight with a sword. Also, I will impart everything I know about war, though we have some attitude, but I think we don't think alike. As long as you stay here, I will give you everything." Amishta cried and hugged her grandfather.

"Thank you, grandfather, teacher." Old Duke softens her face and tries to comfort Amishta.

"You are your worst enemy for now. I can train you, but how can you train if you always have a conflict with yourself? If you want to achieve your goal, then I probably don't know what happened to you all these days, but as I can see in your eyes, please forgive yourself and start a new life." Old Duke held Amishta's hand and smiled.

"I---I just really don't know, Grandfather. It feels like I will just do wrong if I---"

"Then the best thing to do is to determine your choices. See their worth. If you can't let go of the past, then it is fine, but if it can affect your present, then choose: either you continue living with your past, and chances are you might lose your present, or you just let go of your past and win your present. It is easier said than done, but it depends on how determined you can be."

Amishta was relieved. Every word was like a sword poking at her heart. Maybe it was the only words that she needed, as she still didn't let go of everything about her life in the modern world. She always knew that she needed to choose, but looking at her grandfather, she can happily choose.

…..Flashback…

"Hey! Where are you going?"

"Mother, I will just go have fun." Amishta kissed her mother and bid goodbye.

"Where do you think you are going?" Amishta pouted at her mother. She can feel her father's love for her, but she knows that her father is just too strict.

"Honey, just let her be. She was a good student anyway, so just let her go and have some fun." Amishta's mother tried to convince her husband and assured her daughter.

"You're spoiling her."

"Of course. We only got her."

"More reason why she needs to stop doing things like that. We always wanted her safe---"

"Mother, Father, I will be just fine." Amishta bid goodbye and visited her uncle. Her uncle is the only brother of her father.

"My beautiful niece, how are you? It is a good thing your father---"

"I didn't tell them---"

"I will really be killed by your father one day just because of you." Amishta pouted and acted pitiful in front of her uncle.

"Uncle, I wanted to continue the mission." Her uncle's face becomes serious.

"No, it is dangerous."

"Uncle, you obviously trained me for this. You knew I could do it. I am the ranked assassin, so this case of killing that bastard is fine. I am already not like before. I can fight, and achieving revenge for Aunty is a must," Amishta stated.

Her uncle is a self-made master of an assassination guild in an attempt to have revenge for his wife, who died because of a Mafia king. It is also the reason why Amishta's father doesn't want to associate with him because of his family's safety, but he didn't know that Amishta presented herself to train with her uncle.

"No. I will have the revenge myself. I was just blinded before to take you with me on my dark journey." Amishta created a sad face.

"Uncle, I loved what I did. Maybe killing has never been good, but I was alive when I did stuff, and we only kill bad people who have done all of the bad things in life, so they deserve death.---" Amishta's phone suddenly rang, so she picked it up. It was unexpectedly her father.

"Yes, Father. Do you---"

"I want you to stay safe. Live your life and don't go home." Amishta felt wrong. His father's voice was hoarse and practically didn't seem right.

"Father, what are you saying?" Amishta is very worried.

"Remember that we always love you." Her father cuts the line, and no matter how Amishta dials it back, it doesn't respond. She got her keys but was stopped by her uncle.

"What happened?"

"I don't know. I just had a feeling that it might be something wrong. Father doesn't call me just to say that, but probably---" Tears were falling down Amishta's eyes. She was not herself; she only wanted to see her parents.

"Let's go." Her uncle joined her in going home with most of their members. They were taken aback by the cars parked and men in black with blood on the ground. Amishta clenched her fist and gritted her teeth. She quickly fixed her gun and tried to walk through the door but was knocked out by her uncle unexpectedly.

"Amishta, I want you to live a good life," he whispered. Amishta was left in the car with a few men guarding her. She was knocked out and woken up probably after the fight. She is very angry with her uncle, but her desire to see her parents was taken over by it. She ran to her so-called "home," but right now it was not really the same as before.

The floor was filled with dead bodies from their team and the enemy. Even some of their maids were killed. She looked for her parents all over the house and found them in her room. They were dead but were still with each other while holding her picture.

She shouted with pain. She was really angry and wanted revenge. She can't control her tears; it seems like it was a river that never stops running. She hugged their cold bodies. She can't help it , but she blamed herself for everything that happened. Maybe if she just had a normal life, then maybe her parents would still be alive.

She seemed to feel a paper in her mother's pocket, so she got it. It was a letter to her in blood. It was stated that they want her to live a good life and change. Amishta cried when she realized that her parents actually knew everything, but they supported her silently while constantly worrying.

"I am sorry." Amishta looked back and saw her uncle, who was nearly dying. She runs towards him and tries to help him. Even if she was angry that she was knocked up by him a while ago, she was sure it was for a good intention.

"I want you to live a normal life as your parents wished. When I die---"

"Don't, Uncle. You are the only one I---"

"I have already finished my revenge, but I was sorry for you because I didn't protect your parents. I wish I could turn back time and didn't require you to be on my side."

"Uncle, I was happy---"

"I truly wished your happiness. Your parents arranged everything for you already. The guild will do as I die. Don't blame yourself." Amishta just cried.

"Promise me not to be another like me. Stop being a monster and just live---"

"No!"

"Promise me!" Her uncle coughed up blood that made her agree while crying.

"Then good---"

-----End of Flashback-----

'Uncle, I promised not to become a monster like you, but if I continue to hide the real me, then my family will die again in front of me. I will not become like you in a way that I will continue to live for my loved ones. I will fight for them. I already fulfilled my promise in the modern world. In this world, I will start everything and will bring out who I am, Amishta thought.

"Letting go of the past is not easy. Don't force yourself too much. It takes time." The Old Duke senses the new aura from Amishta, which means she is already currently resurrecting her real self.

"Yes, Grandfather. Thank you." Amishta looked at him gratefully and couldn't help but hug him. Since it is her new life, then she might as well perform well and make her existence known to the world. But since she was not powerful, she will learn everything to make sure that everything she planned can go well.
