Zu Xin sat quietly on the bench as he looked at the other students who were practicing with his senior. His heart felt heavy.
He was still not confident to shoulder his responsibility as a leader. But he also didn't know how to refuse. "Urghhhh...this is so stressful. I've never talked to my teammates even once, how can I be their leader?" Zu Xin lowered his head. Looking at his dusty shoes.
"What's wrong? You look lifeless."
Zu Hang asked suddenly as he sat down next to Zu Xin without any shame. He wiped his sweaty face and drank the water. Zu Xin raised his head. He looked at Zu Hang's face without blinking. He felt that the boy next to him was more worthy of being a leader than he was. Zu Hang was cheerful and friendly with everyone regardless of age or status.
"Want some?"
Zu Hang asked as he handed the bottle to Zu Xin. He could feel that Zu Xin was staring at him. As if he wanted to say something. Zu Xin shook his head and slowly looked away from Zu Hang.
"Don't just nod and shake your head. Say something."
Zu Hang said. He slapped Zu Xin's thigh without feeling guilty. "Ahhh, what's wrong with this kid?" Zu Xin gently stroked his thigh which felt sore. He stared deeply into Zu Hang's face, searching for an answer in that face.
With dissatisfaction, Zu Hang looked at Zu Xin's face. It was too hard for him to hear Zu Xin speak. He only spoke to WenWen but not to his teammates. It was quite heartbreaking for Zu Hang.
"You're fine talking to brother WenWen, but why are you so quiet with us?"
Zu Hang asked frankly. Expressing everything hidden in his heart. He really wanted to be friends with Zu Xin who was so calm and mature. But Zu Xin's silence made him too far from his reach.
"Sorry. I just...don't know what to say..."
Zu Xin said at the end. He actually didn't talk much at home or in class. Both of his parents were always busy and he had no one to talk to since he was little. Growing up in such an environment made Zu Xin less confident to speak. Afraid that his words would make people angry.
Zu Hang could also guess that. He just thought that Zu Xin only talked to certain people who followed his standards.
"You can say anything. Errr...like good morning, how are you? That's it. Easy, right?"
Zu Hang said. He was indeed a cheerful child and many people loved him. But he forgot that he and Zu Xin were like heaven and earth. One was too calm and the other was too active.
"Okay. I'll try."
Zu Xin replied. Actually, he didn't understand what Zu Hang said at all, but he didn't want to hear any more nagging from Zu Hang.
Hearing that answer, Zu Hang smiled sweetly. Finally, he managed to become friends with the boy who had always stolen his attention since the first day they met.
"After this, we're going to stop at a convenience store. Do you want to come with us?"
Zu Hang asked as he wrapped one hand around Zu Xin's neck. Zu Xin shook his head.
"You have to come too. There's no excuse."
Zu Hang said and ran towards his other teammates. He looked so happy as if he had just received the greatest gift from heaven.
"Why did you ask me if you didn't want to accept my answer from the beginning?"
Zu Xin muttered to himself.
After the training was over, Zu Hang dragged Zu Xin to the convenience store with the others to buy ice cream. No one could escape Zu Hang's pushy nature.
"Our ice cream before winter arrives."
Zu Hang said happily. The others just smiled and followed his wishes. It's not winter yet, but the wind is already cold.
"Uh, team leader. Why did you choose to join the dance club?"
Zu Hang asked. Trying his best to make Zu Xin talk more. The others nodded. Also wanted to know that.
"Err...I just joined the first club that invited me without thinking twice."
Zu Xin said with his poker face.
"Ha!?"
Everyone was shocked to hear the unexpected answer from Xu Xin's mouth.
"You've danced before, right?"
Han Jie asked. He began to feel that his team leader might be born from a different world. Zu Xin shook his head. He looked confused there.
"Haaa!?"
Again. They screamed in surprise and made Zu Xin even more confused.
"Not even once, ever?"
Zu Hang asked. Zu Xin nodded. "What's wrong with them?" Zu Xin looked at his teammates in confusion one after another.
"Team Leader. You're really something."
Zu Hang said. He gripped Zu Xin's shoulder tightly.
"What?"
Tanya Zu Xin is still at a loss with the actions of all his teammates.
"You've never danced before? But... how can you dance so perfectly?"
Shu Xin asked curiously. He took a bite of his ice cream which was almost melted.
"Perfect? Which part is perfect? Compared to the four of you, I am far from good. Let alone perfect."
Zu Xin said as he gave his ice cream to Zu Hang. Eating ice cream in this cold weather really made him feel feverish. Zu Hang just took Zu Xin's ice cream like that was their usual thing but this was the first time they hung out together.
"That's what we're talking about here."
Zu Hang said with a mischievous smile. His intention to make Zu Xin speak more than one sentence finally succeeded. Zu Hang ate the ice cream in his hand without feeling guilty. In fact, his smile grew wider.
"Are you..."
"Are you insulting me?" Zu Xin looked at Zu Hang. The boy just smiled mischievously. "Urghhhh...this boy..." Zu Xin unconsciously curled his lips into a smile. He was completely defeated by Zu Hang's mischievous behavior.
"Just forget about this naughty boy. Let's be friends from now on."
Han Zho said after he just silently watched his teammates bully their team leader.
"Eh..? We're not friends yet?"
Zu Hang asked. With a puzzled look, he looked deeply at Han Zho's face. Han Zho just kept quiet. Too lazy to deal with Zu Hang's overly friendly behavior. Zu Hang may have been friends with all of them, but they were still not friends with each other except with Zu Hang.
"Ah! Whatever. I'm Wang Zu Hang."
He said at the end. He smiled sweetly.
"I am Lu Han Zho and this is my brother Lu Han Jie"
Han Zho said warmly.
"I'm Fei Shu Xin."
"Errr...Zhang Zu Xin. Let's be friends starting today."
"Of course, team leader."
Zu Hang hugged Zu Xin's neck without any hesitation as if they had known each other since birth. There was no guilt at all. And Zu Xin just accepted Zu Hang's treatment without a word.
"Uh. I heard you commute from your house to school every day. Why don't you live in the dormitory? Zu Hang lives alone in his room."
Han Jie asked. Zu Hang nodded quickly. It's boring to live alone. You only have a wall to talk to. Especially for someone who talkative like him.
"Errr...."
Zu Xin didn't know how to refuse. He had never lived with a stranger before.
"It's okay. You don't have to think too much about it. But, if you change your mind one day. How about we share a room. I'll keep my room available just for you."
Zu Hang said warmly. His smile was always etched on his thin lips. Zu Xin just nodded. In his heart he had already answered no. But he felt unable to refuse Zu Hang's request. After all, deep down in Zu Xin's heart he was really curious about the shameless Zu Hang. The first person who wanted to talk to him without any boundaries.
