The world of Euryn is a fractured land encased by colossal concentric Runestone Barriers, ancient magical walls created to protect humanity from the wrath of Ancients, godlike primal creatures that once nearly annihilated all life. These barriers were erected by the Twelve Arcanums, a legendary group of warriors who sacrificed their lives to seal out the Ancients. Their spirits now reside within twelve Guardian Ancients, enormous entities that once kept watch over the remaining cities.
One of the last major human strongholds is Vandrel, a militaristic fortress nation that is guarded by an elite order known as the Requiem Order. The Order is tasked with fighting the Ancients using special weapons: Titanium Blades capable of weakening Ancients but can kill them if enough force is applied to an ancient, Gliders (huge airships used in serious battles to carry extra weapons and supplies,they can also be used to retreat if things get too heated) and wind gliders (small wing-like machines used by military personnel in aerial battles) and Cannons that assist in defense but can't destroy the Ancients. As time has passed, humanity's fight against the creatures has become a routine struggle—until the wall begins to crack.
Story Overview: For centuries, humanity has lived in relative peace behind the Runestone Barriers, which keep the terrifying Ancients at bay. However, cracks are beginning to appear. In the city of Vandrel, the military maintains strict control as they prepare for an inevitable conflict. But an unexpected twist occurs when the Last Guardian Ancient—one of the twelve protectors—falls during a battle between the Ancients and a Guardian Ancient within the city, crushing the protagonist's home in the process.
The protagonist, Elian Fyre (MC), a timid and good-hearted young man, witnesses the collapse of his family's home and the imminent threat of death as an Ancient approaches his younger sister. In a desperate, last-minute bid to protect her, Elian eats the flesh of a Guardian Ancient, unwittingly transforming into a hybrid being—part human, part Ancient. This transformation unlocks enormous power, allowing him to defeat the Ancients threatening his sister but at a steep cost: his new power is uncontrolled, leading to devastation and the injury of his sister.
The government, realizing Elian's potential as the first person in 500 years to consume an Ancient and return to human form, takes him into custody. He's forced to become a soldier in the Requiem Order, despite his reluctance and the trauma of his sister's injuries. With his new power, Elian must fight the Ancients while struggling to keep his humanity intact.
