The only place Sophie Smith could think of as peaceful now was the restroom.
She hurriedly walked toward the restroom, and just as she stepped in, she was pulled back out and into a warm, broad, yet incredibly familiar embrace.
"A-Asher Land..."
How did he manage to follow her so stealthily?
"Why did you come here?" His voice was hard to read, and Sophie was still trying to gauge his thoughts. She thought, maybe he meant she shouldn't have come here.
"I didn't want to come, it's—it's Mr. Davis..."
"He forced you to come?"
Forced?
Probably.
She nodded awkwardly.
He just stood there, somehow giving her an overwhelming sensation, and she tried to push him away. She pushed against his chest with her hand, but if he didn't want to move, there was no way she could budge him.
"Asher Land, if you don't want to see me, then I'll leave." She pouted. After all, who would really want to see him getting engaged to another woman here?
