"Woah, guys." Scarlett butted in, standing in front of me, against two large guys. "You heard the lady, scram!"
"Our orders were to bring you to her or risk getting arrested." Scarlett was trying to swoon them to get them to fall for her while she drives them away from my pouch, but they didn't move an inch. Their faces were still, and their expressions were kept poised.
"What would I be arrested for?"
"False accusations and defamation of character." I squinted, trying to piece why that would be a charge against me when I was the one being threatened and humiliated. It all came together, she didn't want to believe her son cheated on me. For Pete's sake, that bitch was pregnant for him.
I sighed. I knew Margaret enough not to pose empty threats. If she sent them here, then it was clear that she would pull through with every one of them.
