Lucifer and Ruka strolled across campus, their usual lazy pace making them look like they didn't have a care in the world. Students parted for them like waves around a rock — not because they were famous, but because the air around them felt different. Heavy. Dangerous.
But then they saw them — standing just ahead by the garden path.

Vina's eyes narrowed the moment she locked eyes with Lucifer. For a second, there was surprise… and something close to disbelief.
"You shouldn't be alive," she said coldly, stepping forward. "I bit you. A werewolf's bite kills vampires. So how—?"
Lucifer didn't let her finish. He tilted his head and smiled — slow, sharp, and unfriendly.
"If I were you," he said, voice like velvet laced with poison, "I'd worry less about the 'how' and more about the 'when.'"
Vina blinked. "What?"
