The boy's breathing grew heavier. He began to stagger, only slightly, but the girl saw it. She pivoted on one heel, dropped low, and launched herself into the air with a spinning hook kick that cracked across his shoulder and sent him reeling. The moment his foot scraped the boundary line, the referee called it. The girl landed softly, her arms now lowered as she bowed politely. Her chest rose and fell, and sweat lined her brow, but there was a faint glimmer in her eyes.
She'd been in the first fight of the day, and she was glad she was able to win without having to exert too much force. There would be four more rounds after this, and she intended to get through all of them and be declared the winner in this event. She walked off the stage to a ruckus of cheers, her braided ponytail swaying behind her.
Min-joon gave out a whistle as he watched her walk off. "Now that's a woman."
Lin-hae rolled her eyes but couldn't help but agree.
