Chapter 28 - Chapter 10: Rich Girl_2

Jennifer waved her hand dismissively, "Looks like I need to invite you a few more times, so you can experience the dullness and monotony of being wealthy. After all, I have plenty of time."

She paused, then said with a sly smile, "If one day you have over a billion dollars, I could even be your high-society advisor and show you more."

"You better keep your word," Zhou Qingfeng, of course, wouldn't refuse, and couldn't help but ask, "Is your life really that boring?"

Jennifer chuckled lightly, sighing, "Having money is great, but when everyone keeps smiling at you, you'll find those smiles uglier than tears.

I wanted to experience something different, so I left the urban area of Miami and came to White Beach Town to look for something to do. No one here knows me, it's just a way to relax."

Zhou Qingfeng joked, "You remind me of another rich kid's famous quote—choosing friends without caring whether they're rich or not, as long as they're not richer than me."

Jennifer strongly agreed, laughing heartily.

As the sports car left the restaurant, the night breeze rushed in, slapping against Zhou Qingfeng's face. His hair was blowing wild, and the sound of the wind and the engine's roar filled his ears.

At first, he chatted casually with Jennifer, their conversation drifting from Miami's weather to Los Angeles' nightlife, like two ordinary friends having small talk.

As the car sped up, Zhou Qingfeng's excitement increased. He suddenly raised his arm and shouted loudly, his voice piercing the wind:

"I want to be rich too! I want to have hundreds of millions, billions of dollars.

Boring, tedious, suffocating life, come oppress me! Let me feel what it's like to be filthy rich!"

Jennifer just thought Zhou Qingfeng was being dramatic, and couldn't help but laugh out loud, her laugh crisp and uninhibited.

She pressed the gas pedal even deeper, and the car shot forward like an arrow off a string, the wind becoming fiercer, tearing Zhou Qingfeng's voice into shreds, scattering it in the air.

"Oh my god, shit!"

Zhou Qingfeng was scared by the sudden acceleration and tightly gripped the door handle, his face turning serious, "Slow down! I don't want to die before getting rich!

It's nearly two hundred at this time of night, are you crazy?!"

Jennifer just laughed even harder, finding Zhou Qingfeng's tense reaction immensely amusing.

Her fingers gently tapped the steering wheel, a hint of provocation in her eyes, "Victor, this is what the life of the wealthy is like!"

"Like hell it is, slow down!"

"You have to learn to adapt to it, to love it."

"No, carbon-based life forms need to follow science, don't make me use the F-word!"

Jennifer's madness didn't last long. Within three minutes, the piercing sound of sirens blared behind them.

In the rearview mirror, a police Mustang was relentlessly pursuing them, its red and blue lights flashing anxiously.

The police speaker blared a stern command, "The red sports car with the license plate ******** ahead, immediately slow down and pull over!"

Faced with the police, Jennifer yielded quickly, shrugging her shoulders, still wearing a nonchalant smile.

She slowly reduced her speed, steadily pulling over to the side of the road, then reached into her bag for her driver's license, casually placing it on the dashboard, and raised her hands, grasping the car frame...

Her actions were so proficient it was as if she'd done them thousands of times before.

Zhou Qingfeng watched in stunned amazement, couldn't help but comment, "How are you so practiced at this? This isn't your first time being pulled over, is it?

I didn't expect such a gorgeous girl to love speeding. If you want to risk your life, don't drag me into it!"

Jennifer just winked at him, a sly grin on her face, "Victor, welcome to the dull, tiresome, suffocating world of the rich.

Today's first lesson—rich people can do whatever they want, disregard the law, challenge morals, trample over everything.

Here's a practical demonstration, watch carefully."

The police car had also stopped. Two officers stepped out, hands on their gun holsters, looking stern and alert.

One particularly imposing officer stood out; his burly figure, steady steps, eagle-like gaze, and powerful voice commanded, "Ma'am, please step out of the vehicle for inspection."

Jennifer lazily pushed open the car door, hands still raised, a slight smile of resignation on her face.

Following standard procedure, her hands were cuffed and she was escorted to the back of the car for questioning and a breathalyzer test. Zhou Qingfeng was instructed to stay inside the car and not to move.

However, things quickly took an unexpected turn.

The burly officer's eyes scanned Zhou Qingfeng's face, suddenly pausing. He frowned, his voice tinged with disbelief:

"Victor? What are you doing out this late?"

Zhou Qingfeng looked up, his heart sinking, silently cursing—the officer in front of him was none other than Selena's father, Chief Constable Kongges.

This high-intensity, ill-tempered constable was now glaring at him with eyes full of rage.

Jennifer hadn't figured out the situation, still speaking lazily, "Officer, I'm very sorry, extremely sorry.

I didn't take any drugs, I haven't been drinking, I just got too excited chatting with my boyfriend and didn't notice the speed."

"Boyfriend?" Chief Constable Kongges' face instantly darkened like a pot's bottom.

His eyes moved back and forth between Jennifer and Zhou Qingfeng, finally fixing on Zhou Qingfeng's slightly awkward face.

Half a month ago, early in the morning, Selena hugged Zhou Qingfeng's neck at the breakfast table, happily announcing she finally had a boyfriend.

Zhou Qingfeng had also vowed to Chief Constable Kongges that he would take this relationship seriously, cherish Selena, and never let her get hurt.
