Chapter 30 - Chapter 11: The Heart of a Butcher

The chief's order was brief and clear, and Conges didn't hesitate at all. He tore up the ticket directly, signaling Jennifer could leave.

Jennifer waved her hand triumphantly, a victorious smile on her face. She turned to Zhou Qingfeng and said with a hint of pride in her voice:

"Victor, did you see that? This is the benefit of being rich. We are constantly protected and privileged."

Zhou Qingfeng stood by the roadside, in awe, stunned by Jennifer's "privilege performance."

Having power and influence really allows you to do whatever you want.

Thinking the ordeal was over and he could get away smoothly, Zhou Qingfeng was unexpectedly blocked by Chief Constable Conges with a cold face.

"Lady, I let you leave, not this kid." The chief's voice was low and authoritative, his gaze sweeping over Zhou Qingfeng like a knife.

Jennifer immediately frowned, dissatisfied: "I was speeding, not my boyfriend, why won't you let him go?"

Zhou Qingfeng quickly interjected to explain: "Jennifer, stop talking. This is Selena's father, Chief Constable William Conges."

He turned to the chief and introduced resignedly: "This is Jennifer, our school nurse. After school, I helped her move some things, and we had a meal together, but I'm not her boyfriend."

Jennifer then realized she had accidentally caused a little trouble. She blinked her bright eyes, but her face still wore a relaxed smile.

She waved her hand and said lightly, "Victor, it seems you have a special ride home, you don't need me. Good luck!"

With that, she jumped into the red sports car. The engine roared and she sped away, disappearing at the end of the road in an instant.

Zhou Qingfeng stood there, feeling very embarrassed.

Before he could say anything, Chief Constable Conges slapped his shoulder, not too hard or too light, but making him feel intense pressure.

"Kid..." The chief's voice carried a hint of anger.

Zhou Qingfeng quickly reiterated: "Chief, I'm really not that girl's boyfriend."

Chief Constable Conges sneered, his gaze sharp as an eagle's: "Jennifer Connally, the second daughter of the chairman of 'Pioneer Holdings.'

That red sports car is worth over $200,000. Perhaps she thinks it's already very low-key, but in White Beach Town, it's a unique, eye-catching car.

The day she came to our town, her rich dad donated $100,000 to the town police department, hoping we could look after her.

Do you think I didn't recognize her?"

What...?

If Jennifer's "rich person immunity theory" opened Zhou Qingfeng's eyes, Chief Constable Conges's "strict law enforcement" made him feel confused about right and wrong.

One acted willfully with wealth, and the other cooperated considerately. Power and money combined so efficiently.

At the scene, the chief's partner also walked over, patting Zhou Qingfeng's shoulder with a teasing smile on his face:

"The day that rich girl arrived, all the town's police phones received her photo, and we were instructed to look after her.

We knew who was in that car as soon as we saw it. But to follow procedure, we had to go through the motions, and give Miss Jennifer an immersive experience."

He paused, then continued to tease: "Victor, we certainly know you're not that pretty girl's boyfriend.

You, a rooky, must be infatuated to follow her out for fun.

Honestly, that girl is indeed pretty, with a great body, and comes from a good family. What man could refuse a ride in her car?"

The partner's words were filled with a kind of envy that all men understand but also mixed with a lot of mockery.

Zhou Qingfeng's face flushed from listening, but he felt somewhat indignant. He opened his mouth to refute, but was interrupted by Chief Constable Conges.

"Stay away from that rich girl," the chief warned sternly, "You're just an ordinary study-abroad student; being with her will only get you played."

His tone changed, carrying a bit of complicated emotion, "The reason I agreed to let you stay at my house is that I believe you're a good student.

My daughter likes you, and I won't stop you two from dating.

I've seen your medical report; I'm glad your health is fine, no random issues, much better than those punks in town.

I don't believe your relationship with Selena will last long, but at least for half a year to a year. During this time, don't get involved with other girls."

As he spoke, the chief pulled several condoms from his pocket and shoved them into Zhou Qingfeng's hand, commanding without question:

"I allow you to sleep with Selena; after all, I can't stop you. But you must use protection; don't make me a grandfather before I turn forty. Now get in the car, I'll take you back."

Zhou Qingfeng took the condoms, his face burning, but feeling speechless in his heart.

He finally understood why Selena had few friends at school, why town peers avoided her, and why neighbors never invited Julia to backyard barbecues.

With such a "dominant" dad and husband holding the fort, who could stand it?

The siren of the police car "Mustang" blared, and vehicles along the way made way.

Half an hour later, Conges dropped Zhou Qingfeng near his neighborhood. He patted the steering wheel, his tone indifferent: "I still have to be on duty. You go home yourself."

He paused for a moment and continued to advise: "One more reminder, you can live in my house, enjoy my wife's meals, even sleep with my daughter.

None of that is a problem.

In White Beach Town, for ordinary matters, I can help you solve them. But don't make my daughter sad, don't get her pregnant, don't touch my wife, or I won't forgive you."
