Chapter 34 - Chapter 13: Lawyer

"Wait a minute... Victor, you're confusing me. Where did you get over a billion dollars?" On the phone, Jennifer was more and more puzzled.

Zhou Qingfeng let out a heavy "hmm," "Do you remember the 'Power Ball' super jackpot drawn a month ago?"

"Of course, I remember," Jennifer replied.

"That lottery ticket is in my hand." Zhou Qingfeng said it lightly, but it was like a bombshell, leaving the other side of the phone stunned.

"What?" Jennifer screamed, "Lottery ticket? How much did you win?"

"First prize."

"What first prize?" Jennifer seemed to have amnesia and kept asking.

"The 'Power Ball' first prize."

The call went silent, then a scream followed, "Oh my God, you lucky bastard. How much is the jackpot again?"

"2.23765 billion US Dollars." Zhou Qingfeng remembered the number clearly.

The call went silent again, no sound for a while.

"Jennifer, are you still there?" Zhou Qingfeng asked.

"I'm a bit dizzy, need a moment. Where are you?" Jennifer's voice weakened, as if she had undergone a huge psychological shock.

"In Downtown Miami, 14621 Oak Road, Lake District."

"What kind of place is that?"

"It's the Miami District lottery office. I've already met with the supervisor here to confirm the validity of the ticket.

But to claim this jackpot, I need to sign a bunch of legal documents. I don't like the lawyer the office recommended, but I can't find a better one."

Zhou Qingfeng finally said helplessly, "Besides, this lottery involves a murder case, and the FBI is already investigating. I desperately need a good lawyer, or rather a legal team.

Although we haven't known each other long, I think as a wealthy girl, you should remain calm and give some useful advice..."

"Fuck you, Victor. Do you even know what you're saying?" Jennifer swore unladylike over the phone, filled with shock.

"Who said I'd remain calm? My family is already very rich, but all our assets combined are just over two billion dollars."

"God, did you hook up with the goddess of luck?"

"You lucky bastard, my family worked for generations to accumulate such wealth. You're young, single, and rich, I feel like pouncing on you!"

In the end, Jennifer remembered the most important point, "Wait... you said you attracted the FBI? Wow, you do need a good lawyer."

White Beach High School, school nurse's office.

A few high school boys crowded the doorway, each clutching their crotch, with exaggerated expressions of pain as if they had just undergone a "brutal" accident.

Their excuses were always the same— "Injured private parts due to intense physical activity in PE class," hoping Jennifer the school nurse could personally examine them.

Today, the number of people was much less than before; previously, the queue could stretch halfway around the track field.

Jennifer the school nurse often didn't show up for work, but today she finally came, and immediately there was a queue at the door.

However, the door to the nurse's office was tightly closed, with faint sounds of soft cursing coming from within, unclear but audible.

After a while, the closed door suddenly opened.

Jennifer walked out, having removed her white uniform, wearing high heels, and surrounded by a scent. She stood at the door, scanning the boys who were faking it, and said sarcastically:

"Idiots, I came to this school to relax, not to examine your dicks and balls to see if they're swollen, twisted, bent, or broken.

I'm done here, go see Dr. Hope for a check-up, she'll take care of your physical health. And good luck to you!"

The nurse's office had two treatment rooms; besides Jennifer, there was Dr. Hope, a tall, burly woman.

Dr. Hope's voice boomed, "Alright, boys, over here. Let me see if your 'little friends' can still function properly."

The dozen boys turned pale instantly, their "painful" expressions disappeared in a flash, and they fled as if Dr. Hope's room was the entrance to hell.

Jennifer walked out of school and called her father, "Dad, do you have time now?"

On the other end of the line, in Downtown Miami, was the top floor office of 'Pioneer Holdings.'

An old father was in a meeting at the company, and upon answering, he instantly dismissed his subordinates in the meeting room and asked caringly, "Sweetheart, how's your vacation in White Beach Town going?"

"Average, the kids here are as rude as those in the urban areas. There's something surprising though, and I want to get your opinion."

Her father straightened up, "Is it something serious?"

"Somewhat serious."

"Are you pregnant?"

"Of course not."

"Made a new friend?"

"Kind of."

"New friend in trouble?"

"Quite a bit of trouble."

Jennifer inexplicably wanted to recreate Zhou Qingfeng's scene of revealing his lottery win— it was fun to create shocking surprises.

"Baby, are you in trouble?"

"No, he asked for help, so I can only consult you."

Her father instantly breathed a sigh of relief, growing more interested, "Is it a boy?"

"Of course."

"Sexual orientation normal?"

"Why ask that?"

"Does he do drugs? Any tattoos? Political views? What's his attitude toward relationships?"

Jennifer was speechless, only emphasizing, "Dad, he's only eighteen, and he's an international student from across the ocean at White Beach High School."

"Just an adult? That's a bit young."

Her father was somewhat disappointed, his interest waning, and his tone noticeably more languid.
