Lucas couldn't brush the dream from his mind. It kept haunting him as if to remind him of something.
"My brain is definitely broken. Yeah, it's broken," he mumbled as he entered the canteen.
"Why are you talking to yourself? What's gotten into you?" Ryker asked, coming up from behind, startling Lucas once again.
He moved away from Ryker instantly, positioning himself in a defensive mode, as if he were ready to fight him. But when he saw who it was, his stance softened, and he sighed in relief.
"What's with you guys today? Why is everyone scaring me?"
"Who else scared you?" Ryker chuckled, finding Lucas amusing. 'Did I scare him? I don't think I did. Maybe he had a nightmare.'
"Forget that." Lucas brushed him off lightly and joined the queue with Ryker behind him.
"So, what happened after I went to sleep?" Lucas asked, starting a conversation to kill time.
The line was long. So, it'd take them some time to reach the counters.
