Chapter 207 - chapter 7

The dragon perked up and hissed affirmatively. Hamar threw the ethereal stream of black 'material' that once resembled a crystal into his robe and looked up.

"This is the power of laws huh..." He was looking up at where the snakes flew into the sky. They did not simply fly but they used earth laws to create real material tunnels in the air.

Now as they die, the earth laws remain refined by the natural qi in the air. Now this land is forever scarred by bizarre streams of earth flying into the air.

As he was looking, his intuition warned him about something and he quickly let out a burst of aura. Invisible to most, it was merely for tracking not meant to hurt.

Hamar turned around around placed his hands together, "Fellow cultivator,"

He had sensed somebody approach behind him but did not sense any mal intent, choosing to greet him normally.

The man who came flying over wore a light blue robe and had long flowing dark blue hair. He had spinning orbs floating around him as he greeted,

"I must apologise profusely fellow! This is on me, that Giqnt Splitting Earth Snake was mine-"

Hamar squinted and the other cultivator quickly explained, "B-But I'm not here to ask for payment since you killed it, it was totally my fault!"

He brushed his robe to removed any wrinkles and continued, "My name is Su Ban, I am just a beast controller cultivator. Though it seems I wasn't good enough and this guy escaped..."

Hamar waved his hand, "It is a pleasure to meet you Su Ban, but it is no harm. I actually gained something I needed because of that snake of yours, in fact I should be the one apologising" he saw that he meant no harm and Hamar didn't continue blaming him.

Su Ban let out a sigh of relief and held out a jade token, "I'm actually participating in an event right now. There's a travelling market hidden right here! It's protected by a strong cultivator of one of the major sects. How about with my recommendation you join and I buy you some food laws?"

Hamar thought back to the jade slip he still had from Xuan Yu and thought for a moment, finally answering, "Is it fine to introduce another person?"

Su Ban bit his lip and then shook his head, "Sadly not, each person can only recommend one person. Who then needs to be verified before recommending another...you could join and ask to be verified?"

Hamar thought for a moment, 'Its only right for the help Xuan Yu gave me that I invite him, and I have his jade slip to summon him...'.

He held out his hand and took the token, "Then I will thank fellow cultivator!" Hamar bowed deeply.

Su Ban chuckled and raised Hamar up, "No need to thank me too much, follow me now. Just keep that token safe, without it you will be seen as an intruder, and treated as such."

Hamar nodded and followed as Su Ban flew a few minutes away and then dropped onto the ground. Hamar swallowed before following and seeing the underground hidden market.

He couldn't sense anything from the outside but now that he was in, he could see a massive city filled with cultivators and mortals alike.

There were streets and streets of building, and in the centre was a huge palace.

Su Ban saw Hamar's awe and added, "Once you are in the city though...you aren't allowed to use any law techniques. Even Qi techniques are suppressed but not outright banned. So...be careful to not break that rule."

Hamar nodded, "He can even stop us using techniques? How powerful is he?"

Su Ban saw his wonder and spoke, "This is a real cultivator. One from a sect, and a major one at that. He's nothing like us lone cultivators, just he can supress this whole city...again, be careful."

Hamar nodded seriously and landed on the ground. He dispelled any thoughts of using any techniques, as they walked i to the city properly.

While there wasn't any tangible change he could sense, he could tell that if he tried anything that he would be spotted.

He bowed lightly to Su Ban and asked a question that came to him, "First before any good, is there perhaps an intelligence gathering place here?"

Su Ban smiled smugly as he pulled his hands out his sleeves and opened them up, "Everything is here! Of course there's information brokers, you need something?"

Hamar paused for a moment and thought about it, "Yes, even a hint would be useful..."

"Well we all have tales, come. I'll show you to the information brokers. Just thinks bout exactly what you want or need first, narrowing it down will help you get better information for cheaper."

"Thank you, Su Ban"

Hamar walked through the city following Su Ban, carefully watching those around him. It ranged from mere mortals, to basic QI masters, to cultivators weak and strong.

'To think in one town a single cultivator is seen as a supreme leader but in this place...even a cultivator of my strength would be seen on the same level as a mortal...'

As he was watching the streets something caught his eye.

"Aghhh" a young woman's voice screamed out.

Hamar instantly put his hand on Su Ban and motioned for him to stop. Su Ban saw what he was going to do and in a hushed tone warned, "Just stay out of trouble, some people aren't so friendly here and...you don't owe anything to anyone to be a hero."

Hamar squeezed Su Ban's shoulder as he stated, "Everyone has an obligation to try to help. This is what I do, if you wish...just stay here for me."

Su Ban sighed and nodded. Hamar turned around and used movement techniques without any alteration to move swiftly though the crowds.

"Luckily aura can still strengthen my body...I wonder if I could also manifest it out of would that break the rules?"

He made his way to the scream and saw a group of ruffians assaulting a young cultivator. Hamar saw this and his fist tightened.

At the same time, he saw one of those ruffians hold a fire in his hand...or more accurately a fire consumed his hand.

"How can they use a technique, it's not barred?" Hamar had thought but firstly he shouted out,

"Stop!" He did not draw his sword but he held it so the metal glistened.
