Morgan Rogers stepped down from the bus at the Parliament Square stop and walked along St Margaret Street. After passing the Lady Chapel, he took a sharp turn and entered Westminster Abbey beside the Pyx Chamber. He then turned left and began descending a narrow staircase.
After walking down fifty steps, he stopped before a blank wall and flashed his badge. An array of faint red lights scanned the badge, then his face, and finally his entire body. A click sounded as a human face-sized opening slid into the wall.
Morgan placed his face into the hollow. A blinding red light flashed, and he instinctively closed his eyes. He heard a soft click and the murmur of stone shifting as the wall parted to reveal a concealed door.
He stepped inside without hesitation and walked forward through the tunnel. Behind him, the wall slid back into place.
