"If not, then watch carefully. This battlefield is located in the Holy Land of Mariejois, the very heart of our World Government. In that case, we will handle this enemy ourselves!"
Upon hearing the words of the Five Elders, Garp and the others exchanged brief glances, sighed with resignation, and stepped to the side. They understood all too well that these men were unfathomably proud and haughty, and no matter how much they advised or warned, the Five Elders would never permit others to interfere in their battle.
"Come, Ayr. The three of us shall be your opponents."
The bald elder with a sword, the blond elder in a suit, and the tall elder with long, straight hair stepped forward and took position before the towering Senju Buddha statue crafted through the legendary Wood Release. Each of the three was terrifyingly powerful in their own right; be it taijutsu, swordsmanship, or Haki, they had all reached the apex of martial mastery. Moreover, having fought side by side for centuries, their cooperation in battle was virtually seamless.
"Just the three of you aren't nearly qualified enough," Ayr said calmly, his voice echoing across the ruined sanctuary. Even if one relied solely on the boost granted by Rinnegan and the mysterious augmentation from the cards, facing the joint strength of these three elders would be nearly impossibleâbut now, with Sage Art: Wood ReleaseâTrue Several Thousand Hands already summoned, the threat they posed, however fearsome individually, was negligible to him.
"Hehehe⊠Arrogant, aren't you? Let's see how long you can maintain that attitude once the three of us start attacking together!" the sword-wielding elder sneered coldly. "No need for idle talk. Eliminate him swiftly," the blond elder barked. "Engage!"
At the tall elder's command, the three vanished in a burst of speed, their Haki-charged bodies flashing toward Ayr, who remained seated in lotus position atop the Senju Buddha's head. Their goal was simple: close the distance immediately so their combined attack could disable him in one decisive strike. If they could bypass the massive Senju construct, Wood Release would become meaningless.
But Ayr, unmoving, pressed his palms together gently. "Sage Art: Wood ReleaseâTrue Several Thousand Hands: Grasp of the Mountain Deity!"
A deafening roar erupted as thousands of colossal arms on the Buddha's back activated at once, releasing thunderous shockwaves. The air exploded outward, creating a terrifying gale of force, and the sheer pressure from each arm could crumble mountain rangesâlet alone impact mere humans, even ones as fearsome as the Five Elders. Without hesitation, thousands of limbs surged forth like a divine tsunami, crashing toward the incoming Elders from all angles.
The overwhelming barrage collided with their positions, shaking the Red Line to its core. Ayr's power tore through the marble and gold floors of Mariejois, reducing ornate structures and celestial halls to rubble, while the sacred land of the Celestial Dragons became a crumbling battlefield. Shockwaves twisted the clouds above into spirals, and even the heavens seemed to shudder. In moments, the three elders were buried beneath incomprehensibly massive fists, the ground cracked open, and the air filled with smoke, debris, and spiritual pressure.
From his seat atop the Buddha, Ayr gazed forward with an expressionless face, his Rinnegan eyes glowing ominously. Below him, Mariejois had lost half its gloryâsplintered towers, scorched gardens, and shattered palaces lay strewn like forgotten relics. Repairing the Holy Land would cost the World Government dearly, but that was none of Ayr's concern; this was not his home, and he could destroy it without restraint.
Strike after strike landed, each like divine judgment falling upon sinful earth. When the dust finally began to settle, the towering Buddha stood above a choking, gray haze covering a crater below. There was no trace of the Five Elders.
Gasps and murmurs rippled through the onlookers. "F-Five Elders" "What the hell is this guy's ability!? All three Elders together couldn't stop him?!" "How can this be happening!? Has his strength grown to this absurd level already?!" "No way! I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it! Those three elders⊠they're supposed to be the top force in the World Government!" "Should we help them" "Help!? Don't joke around!!!"
The CP agents and other observers watched in horror, retreating hundreds of meters from the battlefield. Not one dared approach; the sheer terror of Ayr's Wood ReleaseâTrue Several Thousand Handsâhad burned itself into their souls. Even veteran agents, those who had once assassinated Yonko subordinates, trembled. "This⊠this is monstrous!"
Sengoku stood frozen, cold sweat sliding down his back. He had known Ayr's Senju abilitiesâbolstered by Rinnegan, Wood Release, and some unknown augmentationâwere formidable, but he had never imagined that three of the Five Elders working together would be overwhelmed. They had not merely been held off or matched; they had been completely suppressed. Ayr's strength now surpassed what they had seen in the Battle of Hive Island and even the Battle of the Valley of the Gods. Sengoku clenched his fists. "If only⊠if only we had ended him at the Valley of the Gods⊠We should have sent every Marine to kill him right then and there."
"Has your strength truly reached this level, Ayr?" Garp muttered grimly. "Damn it," Zephyr added, fists trembling, "even though I hate to admit it⊠he's far beyond the Five Elders now, and even further beyond us."
Zephyr had been humiliated by Ayr during the Valley of the Gods and had since trained day and night under the tutelage of the Five Elders in Mariejoisâendless training, pushing his limitsâall to surpass him. Yet now, watching this monster display his power so effortlessly, Zephyr felt crushed by helplessness.
As he stood in stunned silence, a figure appeared beside him. One of the Five Eldersârobes torn but expression calmâplaced a hand on Zephyr's shoulder. "Don't overestimate Ayr, Zephyr." Zephyr flinched slightly, then shook his head. "This isn't overestimation. One man fighting three Five Elders to a standstillâno, dominating them⊠that's just raw truth."
"He's strong. Too strong. But," said the elder slowly, "according to our earlier assessments, his power should come with severe limits. Back at the Hive Island battle, we theorized that this ability of his drastically boosts his physical and spiritual energy for a short time. A power like that is unnatural; the burden must be enormous. He's essentially burning his own life force to maintain it."
Indeed, after Hive Island, the Five Elders had spent months evaluating Ayr's ability. Their conclusion was that his Devil Fruit or bloodline limitâwhichever was responsibleâcould amplify his strength far beyond his base capabilities, but such power must surely come with consequences. And during the Battle of the Valley of the Gods, Ayr had not used this amplified form. Now, seeing it again in Mariejois, they were reminded of what they had feared most. Even so, they had not expected this level of devastation. They were no longer surprised by Ayr's growth; they were terrified of what might come next.
