Charles sat on the chair beside Edward in the office, his eyes heavy with sleep and his head nodding forward now and then. They were working through a stack of paperwork, but it was clear Charles was losing the battle against exhaustion.
Edward glanced at him and asked gently, "Hey, Charles?"
Charles opened one eye, groaning. "My ass… it feels like it's no longer part of my body."
Concern flickered in Edward's eyes. He stood up at once, walked over, and carefully picked Charles up, carrying him over to the office sofa.
"Lie down," Edward said softly as he helped him settle. He knelt beside the sofa and began massaging Charles' legs gently.
Charles let out a soft breath, his eyes already fluttering shut. "That feels a bit better…"
Edward smiled as he continued the massage. Slowly, Charles' breathing evened out, his body relaxing completely into sleep. Edward paused, looking at his peaceful face.
