I was the fool for thinking that I could sneak past Flourescent. In a moment, she was staring at both of us, hands folded akimbo. Our cover blown sky high.
"Why are you here?" she asked impatiently and coldly looking glaringly, unimpressed by my presence. "And who's this?" She was referring to Maultner.
*How about we go in and we can talk?" Maultner tried to amicably suggest.
"I was talking to my sister," Flourescent said meanly, without sparing Maultner a glance. "You know how disliked and unwanted you are Audeline. Your presence literally complicates things. I was going to take the responsibility of Wanderbilt upon myself but your presence just messes things up for me. Now can you leave?"
I flinched. Did I have to fight Flourescent anytime I wanted her to remotely like me? Weren't we getting along just fine the last time we met?
