Lily Turner had just finished sending a text and sat down at the edge of her bed when her phone rang. She quickly picked it up and, with just a glance, she knew it was a call from her sister Alice Turner.
"Sis! How did it go?"
Without a moment's hesitation, she answered the call and eagerly asked as soon as she could.
"Don't worry, Mom won't be coming over."
Over the phone, Alice could sense Lily's anxiety and urgency. Not daring to delay, she promptly informed her of the situation.
Upon hearing this, the weight on Lily's heart eased a bit, but she still felt some worry. Her mother would not easily let her go; yesterday, she had coldly insisted she terminate her pregnancy.
Could a mother really do such a thing? Should a mother be doing such things?
No, she shouldn't, she can't, but her mother did.
What did she, as a daughter, do wrong? Just where did she offend her mother to make her do something so incomprehensible to her?
