Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 /this place is huge.\

After finishing off the last few zombies, the halls of the Raccoon City Police Department finally fell silent. Only the faint hum of flickering lights and the steady tapping of water dripping from the ceiling remained.

Leon and Y/N pressed forward through the dark corridors, their flashlights cutting through the gloom.

Leon: "So you were seriously fighting with your bare hands, huh?"

Y/N: "Impressive, right? It's effective—but it takes a lot out of me. My fists feel like they're about to break."

Leon: "Where'd you learn to fight like that?"

Y/N: "Didn't really learn anything. I just throw hands and dodge."

Leon: "Huh. Pretty basic."

They turned a corner and ran into another zombie. Leon didn't hesitate—one clean headshot and the thing's skull exploded against the wall.

Y/N: "Damn, bro, you're good at this!"

Leon: "Haha, thanks. I'm still new, though."

After passing through two doors, they found themselves in a messy office covered in blood. Y/N tried to open a second door, but it was locked.

Y/N: "We need to find another way."

Leon: "Look!"

He pointed at a window leading to another hallway.

Y/N: "Perfect!"

The two climbed through and landed on the other side—only to see a tall, overweight zombie desperately scratching at a snack machine.

Leon: "Looks like the residents are... hungry~."

The two idiots burst out laughing at the terrible joke. While the zombie was distracted, Y/N snuck behind it and snapped its neck clean.

They kept moving, eventually reaching the library. A few zombies lurched toward them, but between Leon's headshots and Y/N's brutal punches, it was over quickly. Inside a small side room, they found their first statue and obtained the first medallion.

Y/N: "Yes!! High five!"

They slapped hands with matching grins, and Leon pocketed the medallion before they continued exploring the station.

---

As they walked through another dark hallway, a faint cracking sound echoed from around the corner. Leon froze and raised a hand to signal Y/N to stay quiet. They crept forward, guns and fists ready.

When they turned the corner—nothing.

Y/N: "Huh?"

Leon: "What? I swear I heard something."

A drop of saliva splattered onto Y/N's shoulder. He froze.

Y/N: "Y-you sure that thing was walking... and not crawling?"

Leon: "...Crawling?"

Both of them looked up at the same time.

A Licker clung to the ceiling above, its tongue twitching.

Y/N & Leon: "Ah, shit."

The creature let out a horrible screech and lashed its tongue like a whip. They dove aside just in time as it landed on the floor, growling and twitching.

Y/N: "What the hell is tha—"

Leon clamped a hand over his mouth and whispered.

Leon: "That thing doesn't have eyes. It can't see us. It hunts by sound."

Y/N's eyes widened as he nodded. The two began stepping backward slowly, keeping quiet as the creature crawled toward them, sniffing the air.

Y/N: "You go left, I'll go right. Got it?"

Leon: "Okay."

They split up, moving around the Licker silently. Everything was going fine—until Leon's radio crackled to life.

Marvin (radio): "Leon, Y/N, I need you in the main hall right now!"

Leon: "Not now, Marvin!!"

The Licker shrieked and turned toward the sound. It lunged.

Y/N leapt forward, tackling it midair and wrapping his arms around its throat, pinning it to the floor.

Leon: "Y/N!!"

The creature flailed wildly, screeching, its long tongue whipping toward Y/N—but Leon caught it and slammed it against a wall.

Leon: "So what's the plan?!"

Y/N: "What plan?!"

Leon: "We're just gonna hold it forever!?"

Y/N: "Wait—got an idea!"

He raised his hand and plunged it deep into the Licker's exposed brain.

Leon: "Oh, sh—"

Y/N: "Got you!!!"

With a brutal yank, he tore out the brain and flung it across the room. The creature convulsed once, then fell limp.

Y/N stood, panting, looking down at the corpse.

Y/N: "Hell yeah! High five!"

Leon: "Uh… other hand, please."

Y/N: "Oh, right."

They high-fived again. As Leon contacted Marvin on the radio, Y/N casually wiped Licker goo off his hand—onto Leon's shoulder.

Leon (radio): "What is it, Marvin?"

Marvin: "I need you both in the main hall, now."

Leon: "We're on the way."

---

Back through the library, they returned to the main hall. Marvin sat on the couch, pale and sweating, staring at a laptop.

Marvin: "There you are. Come here, take a look."

On the screen was a girl with long black hair in a red jacket, standing outside the station with a young blonde-haired girl beside her.

Leon: "Good, she made it."

Marvin: "Chris's sister, Claire?"

Y/N: "You know her?"

Leon: "Yeah, she came to the city with me."

Marvin: "You can reach the courtyard through the second floor, east side."

He groaned, clutching his wound.

Y/N: "Got it. Hang in there while we're gone."

Marvin: "Can't guarantee that."

The two hurried up to the second floor and through the east door. They passed through the waiting room and unlocked the next area.

Suddenly, a helicopter crashed through the window. The impact shook the building, knocking both of them off balance.

Leon: "Holy shit!!"

They ran outside and found the wreckage burning, the pilot dead.

Y/N: "Guess he wasn't a very good pilot, huh?"

Claire (calling): "Hey! Leon?!"

They turned to see Claire waving from the courtyard with the little girl.

Leon: "Claire! Hold on, I'll be right there!"

Claire: "Okay!"

Leon rushed down the stairs, with Y/N following behind. They met at the fence separating them.

Leon: "Glad you're alright."

Claire: "Same here. Looks like you've got company."

She eyed Y/N curiously.

Y/N: "Name's Y/N L/N! A friend of Leon's is a friend of mine!"

Claire: "Claire Redfield, at your service."

Leon noticed the little girl.

Leon: "Looks like you brought company, too."

Claire: "Oh, that's Sherry. I found her wandering alone near the station."

Sherry: "Hi. Nice to meet you all."

Y/N crouched to her level, smiling kindly through the barrier.

Y/N: "Hey there. Don't worry — everything's gonna be okay."

Sherry looked surprised for a moment, then smiled back.

Y/N: "Now step back!"

They did — and Y/N kicked the gate, breaking it open.

Claire: "Wow. You really remind me of Chris."

Leon: "Speaking of him — did you find your brother?"

Claire: sighs "No. He's not in Raccoon City."

Leon: "It's okay. We've got a way out — the city metro."

Claire: "Perfect."

BOOM!

The helicopter exploded behind them, fire spreading fast.

Y/N: "Damn!"

Claire: "Guess it's dinner time."

Dozens of zombies began closing in around them.

Leon: "Yeah, we should go!"

Y/N slammed the door shut and jammed a crowbar through the handles. The undead pounded against it from the other side.

Y/N: "Ha! Empty heads!"

They ran up the stairs and stopped by the burning wreckage.

Claire: "We need to stop this before it burns down the whole building!"

Y/N: "We need water!"

Sherry: "Look!"

She pointed to a nearby water pipe. Leon aimed and shot it several times until the pipe burst, flooding the flames.

Y/N: "Smart kid! High five!"

He knelt and high-fived Sherry proudly.

Once the fire died down, they moved toward the wreck—only for the wreckage to shift violently.

With a loud crash, a massive figure shoved the burning helicopter aside like it was made of paper.

Sherry: "Ahhhh!!"

Claire: "What the hell is that thing?!"

The huge man raised his fist and swung at Y/N, who barely crossed his arms before the impact sent him flying across the hall into a wall.

Y/N: "Gah!!"

Leon: "Y/N!!"

Leon opened fire, but the bullets barely slowed it down. The creature swung again; Leon dodged, the ground cracking under its strike.

Sherry: "It's coming!!"

Y/N appeared again, sliding in front of Claire and Sherry. He caught the creature's next punch with both hands, grinning.

Y/N: "Ha! You're weaker than Nemesis!"

He threw a counterpunch to the chest, making the brute stumble a few steps back—but pain shot through Y/N's arm.

Y/N: "Gah!! Okay, I take it back—MY HAND!!"

Leon: "Move, move, move! We can't beat this thing!"

They ran back through the waiting room and burst into the main hall.

Claire: "What the hell was that!?"

Y/N: "It's... Mr. X."

Leon: "You know it?!"

Y/N: "Nah, just made that up."

Claire: -_- "Oh."

Heavy footsteps echoed behind them.

Sherry: "It's coming!!"

They hurried down to the main statue, where Marvin was still slumped on the couch, barely conscious.

Leon: "Marvin!? Marvin!!"

Claire: "His skin's turning blue—he's still alive, but he's lost a lot of blood."

A door creaked open. Mr. X stepped out, descending the stairs like a walking tank.

Claire: "What do we do!?"

Y/N: "We split up. Claire, take Sherry to the east area and hide. Leon and I will distract Mr. X and lead him away. If you find any statues with puzzles, solve them and collect the round pieces they give."

Leon: "That's actually a good idea—wait, you said a good idea!"

Y/N: "Damn, I really used my brain!"

Claire: "Move!!"

They scattered — the hunter and the hunted vanishing into the echoing halls of the RPD.
