Chapter 197: Broly Overwhelms Goku and Gets Rejected
"Hmph, what's going on here? Who is that guy?" Vegeta had landed beside Whis and asked, frowning.
"Broly. See that tail? I found him outside—another Saiyan!" Lin Qi explained proudly.
"Tch, wherever you go, you always manage to bring back someone to stir up trouble. He's already interfering with our training!"
Vegeta grumbled with clear disapproval, then turned his gaze to the battle raging above. "Planet Vegeta's been destroyed. Where would another Saiyan come from? This guy isn't simple."
High in the air, Broly and Goku were locked in a fierce melee, their bodies flashing and clashing.
Goku aimed a punch at Broly's face, but Broly casually caught his fist and immediately drove his knee into Goku's midsection.
Smack!
Goku's body was sent flying again, crashing through a grove of trees and barely coming to a stop at the base of a distant rocky cliff.
"He's strong… and his power level just keeps rising..." Goku staggered to his feet among the broken branches, then roared as he powered up into Super Saiyan 3.
"Kakarot...!" Broly bellowed, and energy blasts surged from his palms, raining down on the ground.
Goku leapt up, swatting away the energy blasts with his hands as he closed the distance to Broly.
Broly retracted his hands and swung a punch at Goku.
Boom!
Goku swiftly dodged—he didn't dare take Broly's massive punch head-on. He flashed behind Broly and struck with his own fist.
But an enraged Broly was ready. He ducked low, dodging the blow, then spun and drove a punch into Goku's stomach.
Smack!
Smack! Smack! Smack!
Punch after punch rained down relentlessly, as if Broly was intent on completely breaking Goku.
"Urghhh!" With a cry of pain, Goku was blasted away once again, this time engulfed in a blood-red aura.
"Haaah!"
Flipping in midair, Goku steadied himself, then dove back toward Broly. "I don't know who you are..."
"But you're really strong!"
Their fists collided again, the impact sending shockwaves through the air and cracking the atmosphere with a thunderous roar.
Goku followed up with another punch, but Broly blocked it with his elbow, then raised his leg to strike Goku's abdomen.
Pushed into a corner, Goku began to grow irritated. His expression turned serious—he was now fully focused on the fight.
The aura burning around him twisted the air like a blazing inferno.
Goku rapidly pulled back to avoid Broly's long leg, then blinked behind him and slammed a punch into his back.
"Grrgh..." The jolt of pain only made Broly more unstable. He tilted his head back and let out a furious roar.
"HAAAAAH!"
As Broly screamed, his hair flickered between black and green—clearly on the verge of transforming again.
"Do Saiyans have another form?" Watching the change, Vegeta turned to Lin Qi. "You know what this transformation is?"
"Of course..." Lin Qi nodded nonchalantly. "It's the Legendary Super Saiyan!"
"What's that?" Vegeta frowned, confused. Wasn't the Super Saiyan they all knew already supposed to be the legendary one?
But before he could dwell on the thought, the intense battle overhead drew his attention back.
Broly suddenly grabbed both of Goku's arms and flipped him upward, sending him hurtling into the sky with a brutal kick.
"His power's still rising... Not even Super Saiyan God can handle him?" Goku quickly stabilized in midair and dove back down.
Below, Broly was already rocketing upward to meet him. Goku's face lit up with unrestrained excitement.
He barely twisted his body aside to avoid Broly's swing, and the two were once again exchanging punches and kicks in midair.
Whoosh whoosh whoosh!
Their bodies zipped through the sky, so fast they were blurs, nearly impossible to follow.
But it wasn't long before Goku was once again sent crashing down by Broly.
Even faced with Broly's soaring power, Goku charged forward fearlessly, calmly dodging blows—even as he took a few himself.
"This one's growth is visible to the naked eye," Whis remarked with an increasingly amused smile.
"You've really got a talent for finding interesting people. Where'd you dig this one up?"
"Hehe... That's a secret. I'm not telling. But admit it—he's even better than me, right?" Lin Qi smirked in satisfaction.
"Kakarot can't beat him." Watching Goku slam into the ground and leave another crater, Vegeta chuckled mockingly.
"Die, Kakarot!" Broly roared from above. His hair had turned completely green, and his energy aura was glowing the same hue.
A surge of massive power gathered in his palm as he prepared to annihilate the battered Goku below.
Violent gales and waves of energy rippled outward from Broly's body.
"We can't let this go on. If Lord Beerus sees the Sacred Realm in ruins, he'll be furious!"
Whis suddenly appeared behind Broly. With his staff, he gave Broly a swift knock on the head.
"Hey, wait! Let me fight him too—" Before Vegeta could finish his sentence, Whis had already taken action.
"Urgh..." Broly's aura instantly vanished. His hair turned black again as he lost consciousness and plummeted to the ground.
Vegeta walked over and frowned as he peered at the fallen Broly. "Why does he go berserk every time he sees Kakarot?"
"Whis, why'd you act so fast? I wanted to fight him too!"
Whis didn't even glance at him.
"That's because..." Lin Qi stroked his chin. "Apparently, when they were born, they were placed in cribs next to each other."
"Goku's crying annoyed Broly and traumatized him for life!"
Don't ask. It's just the plot!
"Don't sweat the little details. Whis, I'll leave him with you for training too!" Lin Qi turned toward Whis.
"No can do. He loses control every time he sees Goku. How could he stay here?" Whis refused without hesitation.
"Tch... and here I gave you all that delicious food," Lin Qi muttered in annoyance, glancing around. "Where's Beerus? Sleeping again?"
If Whis wouldn't agree, maybe Beerus would.
"Correct." Whis nodded, then looked at Broly, who was beginning to stir. "You'd better take him away quickly, Lord Lin Qi."
"Then I'll take him back for Cognac to train!" Lin Qi grinned. "Does this count as 'recruiting' a Saiyan?"
Whis gave Lin Qi a cold stare. His staff appeared and pointed at Lin Qi.
"No. People from Universe 7 cannot be taken to other universes!"
