Chapter 196: The God of Destruction Realm—Bustling and Lively
"Th-thanks!"
Though awkward and stilted, Broly gave off an air of pure simplicity, like a blank sheet of paper.
He slowly ate his food, curiously examining each new dish before taking a bite, fascinated by everything.
After about an hour, Broly had clearly filled his stomach. He looked at Lin Qi with a grateful expression. "You, thank you!"
"Had your fill? Your father is gone too. Why don't you come with me?" Lin Qi's gaze held a faint smile.
This guy was definitely going to be popular with Whis—and even Beerus.
Obedient and well-behaved, much easier to deal with than Goku and Vegeta!
"Uh…" Broly, still chewing, suddenly paused. He looked at Lin Qi in surprise.
"But…" He seemed hesitant, his eyes full of conflict as he glanced at Paragus's burial mound.
Lin Qi seemed like a good person. He had given him food, after all. But to just leave the planet he had lived on for decades…
Seeing Broly's inner struggle, Lin Qi patiently coaxed him. "Paragus is dead. There's nothing that can be done about it."
"If those two show up again, you might not be able to stop them. Want to come meet some other Saiyans with me?"
"Other Saiyans?" Broly tilted his head, eyeing the food in his hands. "They have this kind of tasty food too?"
"Oh yes—lots and lots of food like this. And you'll be able to improve your combat strength with the others," Lin Qi said with certainty.
Broly stuffed the last bit of food into his mouth, then turned to a corner, picked up an animal pelt, and flung it over his shoulders.
He looked at Lin Qi eagerly. "Then let's go!"
"…Aren't you going to kneel and say goodbye to your father or something?" Lin Qi's mouth twitched slightly. That was a fast switch in attitude.
"But… how do you know us?" Broly stepped up to Lin Qi, finally thinking to ask.
"Oh, that…" Lin Qi motioned for Broly to grab his hand. "Paragus used to be a high-ranking commander. He was quite famous."
"Oh…" Broly grabbed Lin Qi's hand and nodded, only half understanding.
And just like that, Broly had been successfully lured away by Lin Qi!
The God of Destruction Realm.
Beerus lay leisurely on a wooden stump by the lake, lazily yawning. Reclined like a royal concubine, he swayed his tail behind him.
"Haah… When there's nothing to do, I just get sleepy."
"You over there—keep it down. Don't disturb my nap!" Beerus got up, clasped his hands behind his head, and walked toward his treehouse.
"Heh heh… Lord Beerus really is something. All he does is sleep and eat. If he keeps this up, he's going to be surpassed by others!"
"Surpass Lord Beerus?! You mean Lin Qi?" Goku mumbled.
Vegeta crossed his arms and snorted coldly. "Hmph. Hasn't he already been surpassed?"
"No, no, Lin Qi was just a special case. I'm talking about the other Gods of Destruction," Whis said with a helpless look as he watched Beerus walk away.
"The universe is vast—and beyond our own, there are others."
"What? There are other universes?" Vegeta was stunned. He uncrossed his arms and looked at Whis. "You mean, a lot of them?"
"A lot of universes?" Goku tilted his head, confused, looking from Vegeta to Whis.
"That's right. Ours is merely Universe 7 out of twelve. Naturally, stronger beings exist out there!"
Whis's words made Goku and Vegeta visibly excited. They exchanged glances, eyes gleaming.
"Stronger people… I'd love to fight them!" Goku said, clenching his fists with excitement.
"Hmph. So ignorant," Vegeta scoffed with a smirk. He looked at Whis. "Start training us. I can't wait any longer!"
"Heh heh…" Whis chuckled behind a raised hand. "There's no need to be so surprised. After all, individuals with talent like yours are rare."
"I'm truly looking forward to seeing how powerful you can become!"
As Whis finished speaking, several beams of energy suddenly shot toward Goku and Vegeta, catching them off guard and forcing them to dodge in a flustered panic.
Goku glanced at his arm, which had been grazed by one of the energy beams, breaking into a cold sweat. He glared at Whis. "What the heck?! We're just talking—why attack us?"
"If that had hit me squarely, I'd be dead right now! Good thing I dodged in time!"
Vegeta also glared at Whis, clearly angry. "What's the big idea?!"
Whis raised an eyebrow, a faint smile playing at his lips. "Isn't the training already underway?"
As the energy beams kept coming, Goku and Vegeta dodged more and more desperately.
Just then, Lin Qi and Broly appeared in the God of Destruction Realm via Instant Transmission.
"Hey, Whis!" Lin Qi waved, then turned to look up at Goku and Vegeta, who were now dodging high in the air.
"So this is Ultra Instinct training… learning how to move just ahead of the body's perception."
"Hm? And who might this be…" Whis turned with his staff in hand, but before he could finish his question, Broly—standing behind Lin Qi—suddenly widened his eyes in rage.
He locked onto the airborne figure, his expression twisting into fury. "Kakarot… Kakarot!"
"Haahhh!"
A violent burst of energy surged from Broly as he roared. The surrounding trees swayed wildly from the shockwave.
"Oh dear…" Whis remarked in an oddly casual tone, making no move to intervene.
Goku didn't even have time to react. In the blink of an eye, Broly lunged into the air and sent him flying with a single punch.
"Kakarot—die!"
"What the hell?!" Vegeta looked baffled as Goku shot past him. "Kakarot, do you know this guy?!"
Boom!
Goku crashed into a rocky cliff. As stones tumbled down, he sat up from the rubble, rubbing his head. "Who the heck…?"
"I brought them here to train with you. Forgot all about Broly's grudge against Goku!" Lin Qi said with a mischievous smirk.
Whis narrowed his eyes at Lin Qi suspiciously. "I get the feeling you did that on purpose…"
"Of course not!" Lin Qi denied it outright, then quickly changed the subject. "Aren't you starting them on Ultra Instinct a bit early?"
"Their bodies are ready. What they lack is instinctive response," Whis replied, turning to the clash between Goku and Broly.
At this moment, Goku had already transformed into Super Saiyan 2—but even then, he was still being completely overwhelmed by the rampaging Broly.
