Chapter 299 - Chapter 296: The Temporary Conclusion

Under relentless firepower, the Serpent realized that continuing the fight would lead to either death or resealing. Twisting its body, it prepared to flee into the sky. Though its size had diminished, its speed remained formidable.

Suddenly, the clear sky turned ominously overcast, as if heralding the apocalypse. A hammer crackling with lightning descended from above, striking the Serpent's head with devastating force.

A deafening roar echoed as the immense power slammed the Serpent back to the ground. Wild lightning coiled around its body.

"You're late. Don't tell me you were off drinking again," Hela remarked coldly, eyeing the newcomer.

"No, no! I sensed Loki's presence and flew halfway across the globe, but I couldn't find him," Thor protested, shaking his head. He had no desire to face another beating.

"Thor, deliver the final blow," Erik instructed, noting that the wounds inflicted by Thor weren't healing.

Thor nodded in understanding, raising Mjolnir. Dark clouds gathered in the sky, and countless bolts of lightning converged into the hammer. Erik manipulated the magnetic field, intensifying the lightning's brilliance and ferocity.

"Stop! If you kill me, you'll die too. Is it worth it for them?" the Serpent roared.

"That's your fate, not mine," Thor replied, hurling Mjolnir. A cataclysmic burst of lightning erupted, turning the city as bright as day.

"This isn't the end…" the Serpent's body disintegrated in the lightning, vanishing completely.

At that moment, the pervasive aura of fear enveloping Earth dissipated entirely. People regained their freedom of movement, the oppressive weight lifted. They knew the enemy had been eradicated.

At the Demon Group headquarters, Charles, blood streaming from his orifices, opened his eyes weakly. The scepter slipped from his grasp.

"This time, I can finally rest for a while," Charles said with a bitter smile, the searing pain in his mind overwhelming.

Had he not previously benefited from the Life Fruit and the Soul Stone, he would have died. Suppressing the emotions of all humanity was far more taxing than merely controlling them.

"You've done well, Professor X," Tom said.

"I need rest. You're going to be busy, Mr. Tom," Charles replied, shaking his head before passing out completely.

Otto and Killian quickly arrived with prepared medical agents to begin treatment.

In the Arctic, the Serpent gazed toward New York, his expression inscrutable. "You've worked hard, my daughter," he said.

The loss of the [Serpent's Fang], the world's divergence from the past, and the emergence of powerful beings made it clear to the Serpent that he could not conquer the world alone.

"Fear God, join us. Only by combining everyone's strength can we defeat the Demon King!" a man with a large head and green skin urged, his eyes glinting with cunning and malice.

"Tell me about your plan," the Serpent said calmly, eyeing the man. Though his strength was lacking, his intellect had earned the Serpent's respect.

"It's a grand plan—to create a god of destruction," the man replied.

In a prison, Loki and Mister Sinister walked deeper into the facility. Passersby completely ignored their presence.

At the deepest cell, Mister Sinister opened the door. "Hello, Captain Marvel," he said.

Inside, a metal coffin shuddered violently.

In the Dark Dimension, Chino stretched lazily. "Time's up. I should get going, old pal," he said.

"Alright. Come back anytime," Dormammu replied, watching Chino vanish. His smile faded instantly.

"That greedy, insatiable Demon King!" Dormammu cursed. In just one day, the Dark Dimension had lost five percent of its energy—its very essence. Unless he consumed a new dimension, he would never recover. The loss was akin to a permanent reduction in his power capacity.

Fuming, Dormammu opened a communication channel with his followers. "You'd better complete the plan, or if the Demon King doesn't kill you, I'll make sure to deal with you myself."

"Once the plan succeeds, Earth is yours," a calm voice responded.

Back in the real world, Chino's eyes darkened as he surveyed the half-destroyed New York. Despite his mental preparation, anger simmered within him.

He pulled out the Infinity Gauntlet. "Everyone involved in this incident—die," he declared, preparing to snap his fingers.

A note fluttered down in front of him. Chino paused and read it: Some of them are not in this universe. The Infinity Gauntlet isn't omnipotent. Avoid using time reversal unless absolutely necessary—it risks disrupting the timeline. An old friend has already complained repeatedly. The Serpent's appearance was due to a timeline disruption; he shouldn't have been here.

Chino fell silent, acknowledging his partial responsibility.

"Mage, do you know where their base is?" he asked.

Cannot be determined, came the reply.

"Fine. Looks like I'll have to stay in this world for a while," Chino said, shaking his head helplessly.

Soon. Don't rush.

"Mage, when can we meet in person?" Chino asked curiously.

After a pause, another note appeared: The time is not yet right…

"Always so cryptic. You're not some elderly version of Gu…" Chino began, but before he could finish, a massive book slammed onto his head, accompanied by another note: Return it to me in three months.

"…" Chino stood speechless.

With Chino's return, the Demon Group regained its backbone, and reconstruction efforts proceeded methodically.

"What do you mean the Time Stone can't be used?" Tony exclaimed.

"I've overused time-related abilities, and this universe's timeline is already unstable. Further tampering could cause serious problems," Chino explained.

Tony understood where those time abilities had been applied and felt a pang of regret for his materials.

"Did you achieve your goal this time?" Tony asked.

"Halfway. They're in hiding, and I can't track them down. So, I'm giving them an opportunity to act, accelerating their plans. They want to kill me, and I want to eliminate them before the interstellar era begins," Chino said.

"Will you be in danger?" Tony asked. Though he had faith in Chino, a group bold enough to plot against the Demon King must have some confidence in succeeding.

"The danger is uncertain, but killing me is no easy task," Chino replied confidently. Worst case, he could flee to the DC universe or call on Lucifer for help. Even if Death herself came, she'd likely pull him back.

"Good. What's the next step?" Tony asked.

"Business as usual. Push for progress on the Stargate—it's a critical weakness otherwise," Chino instructed.

"Understood," Tony replied.

Unique Quote: "Victory over fear comes at a cost, but the fight for freedom is never truly over."
