Chapter 25 - New day

The next day, Leon was standing in front of the bank as he and Mr. Webar went over the auctions again.

As he believed, Mr. Webar was the best option to sell the paintings. The man had long since made preparations for such and had so far been fanning flames for a more boisterous auction.

He had even made the auction anonymous because he, as the painter, was anonymous as well. This would also help to protect the identity of the buyer.

"Thank you, sir. I'll see you later," Leon said as he got into the car and drove away.

If once there had been a heavy burden in his heart due to the existence of the painting, now he was like a leaf in the wind, without even a shred of worry in his heart anymore.

Whoever bought it would have to deal with the problems that came after. With nothing to worry about, Leon raced through the streets of Boston until he was in front of a very familiar mansion.

Throwing the key to the gateman, Leon left the mansion as he began walking to a certain destination.

As usual, when he arrived in front of the oppressively rich school, Leon immediately began discussing with the security guard to pass time as he waited.

Soon, the doors of the school were opened as the girls began rushing out. No matter how many times he saw this scene, he always marveled at the fact that, at the end of the day,

despite all the money that parents paid, the exit scene wasn't all that much different from that of a normal school. Cliques still existed; there were the girls who looked no different from touts or thugs.

The nerd squad and all that. Hell, the first people he saw leave those doors were the skaters—using their skateboards right from the hallways of the school.

It was very clear that despite the pristine atmosphere here, children would remain children no matter where.

Leon waited for a while before he finally saw Grace, surrounded by a bunch of girls whose appearances and over-the-top jewelry and 'decorations' made it very clear that this was the 'bitch' club.

Seeing them, Leon smiled as he thought this, but what could he do? He was against it, but then they were her choice of friends.

He had known Grace long enough to understand that she wouldn't keep them around without reason. She definitely had something to gain, or they were actually genuinely good friends.

Soon, Grace spotted Leon in the crowd and quickly left her friends, running to jump into his arms—something that Leon was already used to.

"Look at you being all excited. Did anything happen today?" Leon asked when they finally separated.

"Do I need a reason to smile?" Grace replied as they began to walk away from the compound.

Despite the wealth between the two, their stroll out of the school premises was a stark contrast to the many luxurious cars parked in the yard as the butlers and such picked up their wards.

"Not really, but it's not every day I receive such a big hug," Leon replied.

"Okay, you caught me… I have the biggest gist ever," Grace said as she hopped around excitedly.

Hearing her, Leon's ears immediately perked up. After all, who wasn't excited to hear some high school drama?

For the next few minutes, all passersby wondered if the two were normal as Leon kept reacting dramatically to her words.

From suddenly stopping and squatting to showcase extreme shock to laughing out loudly and jumping around… they truly were madmen, but the two in question couldn't care less.

"So, what happened?" Leon asked, engrossed in the gist.

"I don't know. We'll find out tomorrow," Grace replied with a smile.

"Damn, that's a bummer," Leon said, expressing his disappointment.

He understood that this story was most definitely true, considering Grace's power, but then, considering the ethical part of it, Leon couldn't care less… as long as no one else heard it, then things were okay.

"I know, but we'll still see tomorrow. What about you? What interesting things have you been up to?" Grace asked as she nudged him.

"Well, the Cosmic Map painting will finally get sold soon," Leon replied flatly.

"Thank God. That painting always gave me the creeps whenever I saw it," Grace said.

"I know, right? But that isn't the main event. Give me your pen," Leon said as he stood before her.

"What for?"

"You'll see. Just give me the pen."

Seeing this, Grace quickly handed over her pen as Leon took her hand and immediately began to draw.

Like before, he drew a set of angel wings on her palm, but unlike before, no wings materialized behind her.

"What are you doing?" Grace asked.

"You'll find out," Leon replied as he continued, and very quickly, the wing drawing on her palm was done. Moving to her arm, Leon drew an eye, then canceled it halfway.
