Chapter 31 - Temptation

His reflexes were much faster, which made him guess that his tattoo didn't just grant him a power—it had somehow changed his very biology in a way he had yet to figure out.

He should have guessed as much when his eyes were sharp enough to see and pinpoint pages clearly even if he was just flipping through them.

The most notable change, though, was his appearance. Leon could boldly admit that he had never once looked fit in his life before the tattoo. He could pass for a fit person, but he knew he wasn't; he neither exercised nor regulated his food intake, nor did he do any energy-intensive work that would help him burn calories.

However, now he was fit… Of course, he didn't have the body of a bodybuilder… This wasn't some low-body-fat gym. To describe himself, he looked healthy… his once flabby stomach had become flat and firm… he was sure that if he worked out even slightly, some abs would pop up.

His muscles were visible, though not overly defined, which gave him a toned look, but he was in no way thin.

At the moment, Leon could be seen sitting on a plane as it dashed through the air to his home country. The beauty of being emancipated early was that he could now do most things he wanted to do, like travel alone.

"Sir, would you like anything?" an air hostess asked, drawing him out of his thoughts.

Turning to the lady standing beside him, he quickly shook his head before turning back to the laptop before him.

It had been a total of about a month and four days since he had drawn the tattoo on himself, and truthfully, the changes were more profound than he had thought.

The physical changes were there and were obvious enough for Grace to doubt his identity for a week, despite the fact that she was a telepath. However, that wasn't his problem… Well, not a problem—it was just an amusing thought.

Usually, to become an expert at something, one would need to spend a considerable amount of time and resources to learn and experiment in that field.

However, Leon had done nothing more than create an incredibly detailed forum for the scientific community and had flooded it with his theories… many of which disproved existing theories.

There was a saying that humanity would not willingly teach but loves to correct people… That was exactly why he had created this forum.

Within days, experts flooded the forum, arguing and trying to disprove him. They did do that, but they also released several new theories that helped him grow his knowledge.

However, it wasn't long before he surpassed them… With a mind that processed information as quickly and efficiently as his did, it was inevitable.

In essence, there were many papers and theses that bore his name as co-author or researcher since he didn't really have much of a background to cite. He didn't attend any prestigious school, nor did he have any prior work before now.

"What are you laughing about?" a female voice resounded, waking him from his thoughts.

"Nothing really, just how much easier things are when you have powers... they're practically cheat codes," Leon replied as he turned to the girl beside him.

"No, you are the living, walking cheat," Grace said as she kissed his cheek.

"You know your father is sitting just in the other room."

"I know, but we are alone here," Grace said as the greatest feeling—and also man's greatest temptation—began rising.

Almost immediately, Leon refocused his attention as he quickly pulled away. Just because he could didn't mean that he should. Seeing his actions, Grace immediately smiled, knowing what he was thinking.

"You're rich now; you can take care of any of the consequences," Grace said, but Leon shook his head.

"I can, but do you really want our first union to have consequences?" Leon replied.

"That makes sense. I'll wait, then. But I still don't understand—what exactly is the point of holding the auction in Switzerland rather than back home?"

"Taxes, my dear… America takes way more, but this way, minimum taxes can be taken," Leon explained.
