This was both Professor Oak's research facility and his home. Normally at this hour, Professor Oak would be continuing his experiments, but tonight he wasn't in his laboratory.
High in the sky above the town, Professor Oak stood on his Pidgeot's back, gazing solemnly toward the northeast with a troubled expression.
That was the direction of Lavender Town.
"This is Nature Power... Someone in the Kanto Region has actually mastered the power of nature?"
"Is that meteor-like attack the Z-Move of the Flying type?"
"...No, it shouldn't be Flying type. Even from here, you can faintly hear the sound of dragon roars. This must be the Z-Move of the Dragon type."

"Lorelei! Bruno! Both of you get out of my way! I need to meet this Dragon master who appeared out of nowhere!"
Lance immediately scolded his two Elite Four companions who had stopped him, his tone extremely agitated.
"Lance, do you want to die in battle before fulfilling your ideals?"
Bruno knew that he and Lorelei might not be able to physically stop Lance, so he directly mentioned what Lance cared about most.
"That's right. Do you want to fight him to the death and then die tonight?"
Lorelei had been sweating nervously, fearing that Lance would leave without thinking things through. Fortunately, Bruno's words seemed to calm Lance down, so she continued trying to reason with him.
Lance was stunned by their words and couldn't help but calm down slightly.

Lance didn't say much more, simply nodding to Bruno before departing on his Dragonite.
"Bruno, why did you let him go? He's going to..."
"Lorelei, Lance isn't going to find that strong trainer now. He's going to find a way to become stronger, or to find a method to defeat that opponent."
