Chapter 99 - [SPECIAL] Pt. 12: 98: Night Hound's Night

"Only a few had those magical touches, but between my mother and my sister, they had it strange." Fredric, the Master said, looking at the night sky through the window.

"Strange? In what way?" Night Hound wondered curiously.

"Everyone in the family could sense unseen entities, but around my mother, she just could not sense them. She could also see and speak to either spirits or wandering souls aside from her affinities with water and fire. And as for my sister, your wife, she doesn't only have the power of ice, her blood is special." He said calmly, but filled with a stern tone, sharing what he knew about his sister's vampire abilities. Night Hound listened attentively as the Master continued, "It involves all types of elements plus my mother's ability and her killer instinct as the Rose Slayer; she'll be the next lady of the SR Federation."

"That sounds very sound like her." He commented amusingly, making the Master chuckle in agreement.

"I know. She's more notorious and ruthless than I am." He commented amusingly as well.

"Is that the true reason why you molded her into a Slayer?" He wondered curiously, making him smile before taking a sip of his whiskey.

"Anyone will think it that way since it's a part, but aside from Rudolf's issue in the family, it's already written in her blood. She's born to be a slayer regardless of whether I help or not." He answered sternly, yet partly sad for the fate of his sister.

"No wonder I like being around her." He commented, chuckling a little, making the Master shake his head when Night Hound remembered something, guessing, "So, if she's a slayer, does that mean she'll be the true leader of the City Mafias?"

"She's a slayer by blood, but being the true leader of the City Mafias comes differently." The Master corrected him, but it still confuses Night Hound, making him proceed, "Being a true leader of the City Mafias is about being chosen without wanting to be one, a charismatic leadership that no mafia leaders would dare to betray."

"She has that charm." He said, making the Master grin while shaking his head.

"But she's not a mafia. She's a slayer. She'll kill without remorse when needed, regardless of whether the target pleads or not. If they were in her blacklist, they would receive deathbeds, and if they managed to be spared, it doesn't mean their deathbeds weren't waiting for them. That's how deadly she could be, and the mafia leaders might admire that, but not keeping the peace." He corrected him again before adding amusingly, "She's more like a cleaner or a hire for kill kind of leader."

"That's a pretty much appropriate job for Rose Slayer if ever she joins the mafia world." He agreed, giggling slightly.

"Indeed." He chuckled before patting his shoulder, saying, "Anyway, I have to go, I have to prepare our little game for the target."

"Then I'd better do the same since I don't want to be grilled later." He chuckled.

"You'd better. See you around." He chuckled before riding his car, leaving Night Hound watching the car vanish at the corner.

"You're really something, wifey…" He muttered, thinking about what he learned about his wife's powers before getting into his car, driving home, whispering, "I have to work in the shadow of the city again. I hope she'll spare me on this in secret."

Vincencio's night job started once again after his usual job around the company. At first, he always kept his time, arriving back on their Night Rose pack, checking his pack's jobs before heading back to their old house. However, handling the entire city on the field began to take a toll on him, and not only did he get tired once he arrived home, but he started to get late too.

"You've been coming home late, got a rough night, Hubby?" Skylar asked as soon as she joined him on the couch in their bedroom.

"Yeah, and you?" He replied without explaining further, making Skylar's gaze narrow, but he didn't say anything else about it.

"Always, but I have to keep the worry-rat mother act until the right time comes for the clash." She answered, leaning her head against Vincencio's shoulder before adding sternly, "Don't hide things from me."

"If I do, it only means that I don't want to burden you more when you have plenty of things to deal with on your plate." Vincencio replied with a heavy sigh before kissing her head, then adding, "And besides, I still can handle it, but for the heads up, don't get upset when I won't be able to give baby time for a while…"

"And why is that?" She asked, playing with Vincencio's ring finger.

"Do you want your hubby to sleep on you when we do our baby time?" He replied with a little giggle, making her chuckle. It was an understandable reason.

"Touche, but if you can't hold it anymore and you need rest, come to me. I'll handle the rest on your behalf." She requested sternly, making Vincencio nod but giggling.

"You're really a workaholic." He pointed out, making Skylar wink at him, grinning proudly.

"Well, being a boss and a commander, yeah, I have to work twice or maybe even three times harder than my men." She reasoned before softening but firmly saying, "So, please do that for me, for our growing family. I don't want to be a widow this early."

"Wifey, don't kill me just yet. I still want to have babies with you." He scoffed teasingly, catching Skylar off guard, blushing before composing herself.

"Then, whatever you're hiding from me, please, remember to take care of yourself too." She refuted softly but firmly, making Vincencio face her properly, and caressed her face gently.

"And you better do the same." He said softly.

"I will." She replied, sweetly smiling at him.

"Good, now, let me change and let's sleep. I want to be powered up tomorrow." He kissed her lips before stretching and standing up from the couch.

"Then hurry up, I'll prepare the bed." She giggled, pushing him toward their master bathroom.

"I love you." He winked, grinning teasingly.

"I love you too." She chuckled, shaking her head after throwing his towel. Vincencio laughed amusingly as he retreated to the bathroom to clean up.

Another night time, Night Hound was not at his usual port; instead, he was roaming around the city, allowed by the mafia leaders to check their surroundings without causing trouble. However, when he entered a certain bar, he was not welcomed only with booze, cigarettes, and lust that a usual bar does have, but this bar emits danger. Luckily, he cloaked his wolf side and entered the bar like a new mysterious customer due to his half mask. He ordered his usual branded whiskey at the bar area and began chilling but observing, taking notes on what he had sensed, but it wasn't long before his drink got disturbed.

"You newbie, what made you come here?" a seductive voice from a woman, a slut asked as she sat beside him without being invited.

"Checking different bars' vibes." Night Hound replied coldly, removing the slut's hand from his shoulder.

"Then shall we give you some?" Another slut giggled teasingly, but he glared at them.

"No thanks." He quickly replied and was about to leave when a man approached them.

Night Hound, it was the ladies' plot to start a fight since they couldn't get him to play with them. Even the bartender was frightened, but could not do anything besides the bar's manager. The gangster in the eastern city border have been invading the bar because of their connection to the third City Mafia, causing fights to rule inside the bar.

"HEY!" the man shouted and quickly punched him hard to the face, but Night Hound acted hurt.

"What the fuck." With a fake reaction, he wiped the edge of his lip, pretending it bled but didn't.

"STAY AWAY FROM MY WOMAN!" the man spat furiously, making Night Hound sigh, still a composed boss.

"Hmm, well, there's no use in defending myself when you all plotted to start a fight." Night Hound said sarcastically but held venom, making them flinch before adding, "I had no idea the fuck ladies trigger fights around here and let their men act like a knight shining armor, pretending to be a protective gentleman."

"What did you say?" the man who punched him asked furiously.

"Did you just insult me?" the second slut asked in disbelief.

"Nope, just stating the fact." Night Hound corrected as he dusted himself, paying too much for one glass of branded whiskey.

"WHY YOU!" The man snapped and released another punch furiously, but Night Hound wasn't just a newbie. He's a boss – a city mafia big boss too.

Night Hound quickly dodged the reckless attempt, grabbing his neck before slamming on the bar's counter, breaking the whiskey glass that he had used earlier. His aura shifted dangerously before leaning closer to the man's ear.

"Don't start with me and tell your gang leader at the dead-end corner VIP booth, not to cause more ruckuses on the big boss properties when none of you can pay, or else, the warning will be lethal next time you cross the line." Night Hound whispered venom, making the man shiver in fear.

"You…" he quivered, noticing who the man really was.

"Be warned. City Mafias don't tolerate gangsters who don't listen to their warnings." He warned one more time before letting go of his neck, adding, "Get that through your heads."

"W-who are you?" the first slut finally had the guts to ask, quivering on her spot. She felt drawn to him, cowering to a boss, acknowledging her alpha despite being a rogue.

"The security boss." He replied coldly before handing the woman a blue card, making the woman's eyes widen in disbelief. She began tearing up, hope flickering in her eyes before nodding.

Night Hound knew the connection there, and being the alpha of a new but growing pack, he had to give security to those creatures who needed them and the slut, hoping for a chance to change in her life. But with one stern and deadly glare at them, he walked away like nothing had happened.

"What's next on the list?" Night Hound asked coldly as he entered his luxury black Mercedes-Benz.

"Northeast border, the fourth City Mafias reported a case of another gang fight at the Black Street Park. It has been happening around ten to midnight, and what alarmed them is gunfire." Prince answered, telling them their next stop.

"That's rare for gangsters to exchange bullets in a gang fight." He said curiously.

"There's no exchange, boss, but life had been threatened with that gunshot." Prince corrected his boss while Lesley drove them to the area.

"Why, I've got the feeling this is a diversion." He sighed coldly, but smirking at the adrenaline passing through his veins.

"Maybe it is, Boss." Lesley agreed before adding her point of view on the issue they were assigned to handle. "Look, all areas in the city had been disturbed but one new group, and based on what the Master had said, it's all because of him and his family."

"Hm, then we'd better get the bigger fish," Prince commented, getting ready for the next stop.

"No, Prince. Let's push them into the corner. Let's make sure that this group will fall into our hands." Night Hound corrected him, grinning slyly.

"Wait, are you talking to us as our Night Hound boss, or the alpha and husband of our general?" Prince grinned upon hearing his response, making Lesley chuckle while driving.

"Both, and by doing that, I needed your military skills that you had been using with my wife." He answered, requesting as well before adding sinisterly, "Let's leave wounds from inside and with that, SRF's boss and Rose Slayer would have their fun with them."

"That sounded like our boss," Lesley commented, chuckling.

"Well, she's rubbing to me." He admitted before focusing on their next task for the night, thinking, "This is going to be a long night."
