Chapter 85 - Chapter 85 - Introduction and First Class

The feast came and went with Felix writing down in a notebook to pay back this favor of messing with his food. Then, Dumbledore rose from his chair gathering all attention as he raised his hands for them to quiet down.

"Now, a new school year has begun and I have to nag your ears as I make a few announcements." Dumbledore began. "The forbidden forest is off limits to all students and I would like to remind some older students who should remember this. The next is Argus has nearly nagged my beard off to remind me to tell you no magic in the hallways and the banned toys has increased once more."

A few murmurs and soft laughs were heard, while Dumbledore seemed to ignore knowing that a few will ignore these announcements. He always tends to be a bit lax in his ways of running the school.

"Finally, I would like to announce the four new professors. Yes, four new professors at once." Dumbledore smiled.

"First the one teaching Defense Against the Dark Arts, Gilderoy Lockhart. He has graciously agreed to teach for this school year." Dumbledore held out his hands to quiet the excited children below.

"Next, I would like to introduce John Bell. Some may have heard of him and some have not, but he is a brilliant wizard who has created quite a few magic tools. I am willing to bet that your house has a few of his creations." Dumbledore smiled.

Below some students were surprised and excitedly talked with a few others. While John's niece Katie Bell seemed troubled as if excited to see her uncle but also embarrassed having a family member on the staff.

"John here will be teaching Magic Shop where he will teach you how to create your own magic items. Trust me, if you are lucky, he might show you some of his masterpieces he has made." Dumbledore grinned.

John stood at his seat and waved nicely to all the students with a smile.

"Next I will introduce Mrs. Potter. She will be teaching magic circles and you could ask for no better professor for very few and possibly only one surpasses her in the knowledge of magic circles."

Angel smiled as she stood and waved to the students below with a few teenage boys whistling to her. To which she just smiled and waved back to them before retaking her seat next to Felix who was up next.

"Finally, I would like to introduce the final new professor and someone who wrote most of your textbooks. His knowledge and vast with his skills in magic are second to none as he is probably the most gifted student to walk these halls." Dumbledore spoke happily.

"So please give a warm welcome to Felix Grindelwald."

When Felix stood to wave, a silence fell upon the Great Hall making it a bit awkward for him. It reminded him of his own sorting, but soon a roaring sound of clapping and applause filled the room. Felix felt a whole lot better as he sat back down with a sigh of relief.

"He is really putting me on a pedestal here." Felix said.

Angel snorted at his words.

Thus after Dumbledore said a few more words, the feast ended and the students went to their dorms.

The next morning, Felix after getting ready, felt it was time to change his outfit since he has been wearing this one for ten years now. So after jotting down a note to begin working on a new outfit to make and enchant alongside the Sacred Drum. He left his room and walked to his office to begin preparing for his first Divination Class.

Which soon arrived as he smiled at the fifth years who walked in. There weren't many since from what he was told, most just did this class for an easy grade. This was understandable since they had a half baked professor previously who didn't bother to teach them properly.

"Morning." He greeted the fifteen or so students.

"Good morning, professor." A couple returned it with a yawn.

"So I've been told you haven't had the most proper teaching in the art of divination." Felix smiled. "Well, now it's time to fix that and get you all back on track of learning proper divination."

"Don't we need the 'inner eye' or whatever?" a dark skin student asked.

"I am teaching you how to use divination not sprout prophecies. If you hone your divinations for years you can theoretically awaken your 'inner eye' and produce actual prophecies. However, that requires years of dedicated practice and unless you want to be students for decades…" Felix trailed off making a few smiles.

"Anyways, I will explain the teaching plan for the year. The first few weeks will be reviewing previous years and correcting. After that, it will be honing and teaching a few more methods of using divination." Felix smiled.

The students let out a small groan, but upon beginning how to properly use the crystal ball. Those groans faded as they all got the taste of proper divination and happily left the class when the bell rang. Which marked a success for his first lesson as a professor.

Pulling up the schedule. Felix found he had another class in the afternoon for sixth years. Nodding, he went to his office and began to sort out his notes.
