"Fine, let's go. They're all in Kelvin's room," Todd replied.
Kara followed Todd quietly. The music blared loudly, and cheers echoed down the hallway as they approached the door.
Todd opened the door and stepped aside for Kara to enter. Then he sent Kelvin a quick text: "Lock us in."
Kelvin received the message and smiled to himself. He looked over at Becky. "Mission accomplished. Well, not really. I still have some things to do." He gestured for Becky to follow him, and they both headed toward Kelvin's cousin's room.
Becky smiled and touched Kelvin's chest lightly. "They're having a good time in there. Don't you think we should join them?"
Kelvin smiled back, lifting Becky up gently. They moved toward the room and locked the door behind them.
Inside Kelvin's room, Todd's expression hardened as he looked at Kara. He stepped closer, his eyes dark and intense.
"Todd, where are they?" Kara asked, her voice shaky as she took a small step back.
Todd reached out, gripping her arm firmly. "Forget about them, Kara. Just relax. We're here to have a good time."
Kara pulled her arm free. "No, Todd. I want to talk to the others."
Todd's frustration boiled over. "Are you trying to break up with me?"
Kara looked him in the eyes, steady and resolute. "Yes, Todd. I think it's time."
Anger flashed across Todd's face. He moved suddenly, pushing her onto the bed. Kara gasped, trying to sit up.
"Todd, please—stop!" she pleaded, her voice cracking.
But Todd ignored her, his grip tightening as the room seemed to close in around her. Kara's heart pounded. She fought to keep calm despite the fear creeping through her.
In her mind, a voice whispered darkly, "You said you wanted change… now face it."
Kara clenched her fists, tears pricking her eyes. She knew she had to find the strength to stand up for herself.
