His eyes flared against each other. His eyes opened clashing with the brightness above. Aaron groaned as he opened his eyes slowly to adjust the brightness. He had a clear view of the ceiling.
A groan escaped his lips. Aaron tried to adjust himself on the bed but felt numb.
" Where am I?"
"Look who's finally awake. Aaron freaking Vetercio"
The door slammed softly as a man walked in. In his crew-cut medium-red polo shirt and beige trousers, Kendrick sat on the sofa beside Aaron.
" What am I doing here, Ken?" Aaron snapped.
The last thing he remembered was him throwing himself out of the car before he could be crushed.
" Nice to also meet you, Aaron." Ken smiled
A smile that didn't reach his eyes.
" You didn't answer my question"
Kendrick scoffed before he shrugged;
" I felt like saving your ass when I saw you."
"Were you following me?"
Ken heard the tightness in his voice.
" You wish, freak. I was driving on the same highway which technically doesn't belong to one person." Ken exclaimed
There was a long silence. Aaron stared blankly at the ceiling. He hasn't forgotten his revenge and he knew someone planned this. He was going to make their lives a living hell.
" How long have I been out?"
" A month."
Ken's answer sent shivers down his spine. Aaron got up abruptly. He winced - he could feel pain all over his body.
"The fuck" he snapped "I've been out for a month. A freaking month."
Aaron pulled the duvet away from him. His leg touched the rug but before he could stand on his feet he felt wobbly. His vision became blurred as he stammered back into bed.
" You haven't fully recovered Vetercio. You still need to be in bed." Ken suggested
" Fuck this. I need to move. Princess needs me."
He brushed his hands through his hair. His brows knitted against each other. The frustrated groan left his lips. He fucked up.
" Damn it!" he buried his face in his hands.
How was his princess doing? He needs to go back but not now. He had to take revenge on Ammada. He promised himself and Mina. His body trembled out of anger.
" Hey! Are you Ok?" Ken asked
Hysterical laughter echoed in the room, and it sent shivers down Ken's back. Aaron pulled his hands away from his face and glanced at Kendrick.
He stated at him with bloodshot eyes.
" Does anyone know, you saved me?"
"No. I told you. Didn't I?" Ken rolled his eyes.
He couldn't take this shit again. He stood up from the sofa and walked towards the door, before he could open it. He turned to face Aaron.
" Its good you woke up, Vetercio. I thought I had to bury you."
" Fuck you! Don't tell anyone I'm alive. I will need you."
Ken raised his brows
" Who do you think I am? Your guard. Fuck you Aaron, I own myself. At least I'm able to walk without stammering. "
The door slammed against the wall with a loud thud.
Aaron allowed himself back under the duvet. This wasn't supposed to end like this. He couldn't help but think about Mina. How was she doing? Has she missed him the way he has? Was she looking for him? He promised to go back but for now he had to pretend he was dead. Dead to the world and in that way he could gather more information about that bitch called Amanda and end her life.
